  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It was a little windy here though. The swing fell over AGAIN....but, a butterfly could fly by it and it would fall over. Trash cans went flying out in the street and I have tons of leaves in my pond from the wind. Sounds like I need to spend some time in my yard. Today really is beautiful though and I have the windows wide open. :)

I live in Republic (near Springfield); used to drive to Galena frequently for my job; ex-sister in law teaches in Crane; I've heard of St Charles and drive through St Louis as fast as I can :)

Regards,
Jim

St Charles is just outside of St. Louis, and I don't spend anymore time than I have to in St. Louis. There are just to many people up here. If I ever get the chance to move back to the Galena or Crane area I will. I had gotten up one Sat morning to come up to St. Charles to pickup my step son who was going to stay with us for a week and I drove about 30 miles that morning before I seen another car on the road. That dosn't happen up here no matter what time of day it is.

I sure miss it down there. And O yes I know where Republic is. Nice little town:thumbsup:

I haven't been to many of the Cards games in a couple of years. But it will be kind of strange going down there and not seeing the old stadium any more. I think this is the last year for it?

I can't really say to many bad things about St. Louis. I spent the first 26 years of my life in South St. Louis. It sure has changed over time!

Hey I am from St Charles MO, lived there for 21 years, moved to Denver for 2, came back home for 4 more years until I married, moved to Hazelwood (St Louis County), then moved back to unincorporated St Charles County last 3 years. I like St Charles, but everyone from St Louis County esp north county area is moving out here. Used to be lots of farmland up until 10 years ago, now it's subdivision after subdivision.

However, I am used to living in the suburbs, seems better then city life (with no garages and old houses) and somewhat better than rural life (drive lots longer to stores and malls).

Your Right about St. Charles growing. We had moved away for only three years and it grew a lot. There were new road and a lot of new subdivisions. I guess I have been living in St Charles for about 20 years now and seen a lot of changes but my Bother in law has lived here a lot longer than that. He talkes about St Charles city when it ended around highway 94 and parts of West Clay were still durt roads. He is 74 now and retired from the sherifs department.

I lived in South city around Grand and Chipawa. Most of my relatives moved to South County area but I didn't For some reason I wound up in St Charles. I guess when the new stadium is built I will have to go down and see it.

Ny wife dose a lot of the craft shows and we were gues in Affton Saturday for a show. Right off of Gravoes a couple of blocks from the City limites. There is going to be a good show on the 21-22 of this month in Festus that she is going to be in (She makes Barbie and Ken clothes). It is going to be at the Festus airport. They are going to have some kind of air show, hot air balloon rides, Sky divers and a bunch of other stuff. It should be fun.

I dont go to many craft shows any more for 1 my parents dont do them any more and for 2 I never have the money to spend so its no fun to go with no money LOL But I used to go when I was younger with my mom and sister when I was a lot younger. I live in Oakville...do you know where Oakville is???

I am sure that I have been in or around Oakville and never knew it. But I am getting kind of tired of the craft show. We have been selling at craft shows since 1991. Been in many shows through out Missouri and you never know how the show is going to be until it is over. The one t hat we just did in Affon we only sold $25.00 it was not worth it trouble. It seems that the food vender are the ones that make most of the money at the shows.

After the next show in Festus we probably will not do anymore until Sept. The Spring and summer shows are not good anymore.

Whare abouts is Oakville is South county? Is it close to the South county Mall?

The mall is technically Oakville - but it is best known as where Telegraph runs through south of I-255.

Have you tried the big Lindbergh craft fair?

Yes we did. We were there last year before Christmas and we were at the Fox highschool craft show but they were not as good as Sparing Middle school. But they did not have one last year because of construction.

I had no idea that area was Oakville. My uncle worked at Dave Sinclar Ford in that area for many years. I have anuts and uncles that live all over south county.
