You are not alone, sandwiches. Most of what dad writes makes me feel the same way. But fear not, dad soon elucidates,

dad:
It means that when Christ rules with His people, the names of days, and holidays, and etc will be changed.
This is interesting. 'we, as absolute forever rulers of the universe and earth' is the same 'we' as 'when Christ rules with His people'. Dad believes that he is going to be an 'absolute forever ruler of the universe and earth'. That's quite a job title. What the actual job description is I have no idea, but it must appeal to something in dad's psychology. I don't know about you, but I'm not sure I'd want to be an 'absolute forever ruler of the universe and earth'. It sounds like awfully hard work. I wonder if they'd let me get away with being an 'absolute forever ruler of a small seaside cottage in Devon'. Sounds much nicer. Of course, this would preclude me from sitting on the big decision making committees like the one where the 'absolute forever rulers of the universe and earth' thrash out new names for the days of the week, but I'm sure I'll cope somehow.

Are you saying that God and spirits are not part of our universe?
Assuming he/she/it is, would using our senses to learn more about the universe be a sin?

It means that when Christ rules with His people, the names of days, and holidays, and etc will be changed.
Oh OK. I understand now.

They don't know. The year is set to Him as best as was possible. Interestingly, if the years were shorter, more like a moon year, since creation, we would lose a few years. Maybe in real time, the calendar may be closer than we think.
Maybe... maybe not. I do agree with you, however, that the Gregorian calendar was supposed to be based on Jesus birth.

Reason? What man calls reason, is the devil's treason.
Is this true because it rhymes or something?

Reality? What so called science bases that on is unknown.
Reality is what the world around us is really like, as opposed to your fantasies based on an incorrrect interpretation of an old book written by men.

Science? Misnamed.
You are in no position to make that claim.

Technology? Heck, you could gat a whole week out of that. Nuclear weapon day, Abortion day, Bio weapon day, not so smart bomb day, etc etc.
Says the coward who uses a computer and posts on the internet while railing against technology as being "evil." That cave is still waiting for you if you have the guts to match your actions with your (ha,ha) convictions..
Civilization? Hey, maybe add 'destruction of family day, Sodom pride day, etc..
Why would an atheist come up with "Sodom pride day??"

Freedom??

Hmm. Freedom in the bondage of sin? Maybe that could be a month!
Freedom from being forced to worship your god... you and your faulty interpretation of scripture.

Let's see, how about 12 of them?

Adultery month, Murders month, Blaspheme month, ----etc
Adultery is perfectly legal in this "Christian" country. Atheists are not, however, proponenets of it, nor are they proponents of murder. As far as "blasphemy" is concerned you have made more blasphemous statements here than anyone else, claiming your interpretation of scripture is God-like and inerrant.

I don't think we need old Jewish bylaws as a guide to time.

LOL!!! "Old Jewish bylaws??" Try, the "Inerrant Word of Almighty God!!" You are such a Hypocrite!! So, scripture is "God's Unchanging Word," when you want it to be, and "old bylaws" that should be ignored when it suits you. Blasphemer!!!! :preach:

? What does sextoys have to do with anything?

Strappado is a form of torture in which the victim's hands are first tied behind their back, and then he or she is suspended in the air by means of a rope attached to wrists, which most likely dislocates both arms. Weights may be added to the body to intensify the effect and increase the pain.
Other names for strappado include "reverse hanging" and "Palestinian hanging", although this last name may be a misnomer, because human rights groups do not believe that the technique is used by either Israel or the Palestinian Authority.[1][2] It is best known for its use in the torture chambers of the medieval Inquisition,[3] but the practice continues into the modern era.[4][5]

Oh, good heavens --

Thank you -- didn't ask/don't care/didn't read.

Next.
Then what is the point in replying?

You know that there are likely casual observers on the thread that may be interested in knowing the origin of day name.

I want to thank you, dad. From now on, if any Fundie here quotes from Leviticus or Deuteronomy, I will respond with, "I don't think we need to refer to old Jewish bylaws."

I kind of like "reason is the devil's treason."

yep treason against a religoius propaganda machine that doesnt want the flock it fleeces to think.

Wasnt it a serious crime against religion at one time, to translate the bible into the "vulgate"? People might read the thing and begin to wonder....cant have that risk to the order; divine right of kings, papal infallibility and that stuff.

Thanks. It even beats being a diplomat here I guess. That is the desting of believers, as those with a little bible savvy know. A Royal Priesthood. We shall rule with Him.

Good for you. They don't do much for me, dead bones. Kinda ugly and morbid.
If you only knew.

That's why I love using Tiktaalik roseae as an example of the predictive power of a theory. ToE in action!

dad, was the discovery of Tiktaalik roseae a lucky guess, or a result of a prediction using ToE?

Sometimes truth is poetic.

Reality is what the world around us is really like, as opposed to your fantasies based on an incorrrect interpretation of an old book written by men.
The world around us, however is only part of the reality of eternity.

Says the coward who uses a computer and posts on the internet while railing against technology as being "evil." That cave is still waiting for you if you have the guts to match your actions with your (ha,ha) convictions..
So you use a computer with bravery? Paleeese.
Why would an atheist come up with "Sodom pride day??"
You thing the religious right cooked up pride parades?? get serious.

Freedom from being forced to worship your god... you and your faulty interpretation of scripture.
God grant us the same freedom from yours. Indeed.

Right,
you guys really have something to set a moral compass with. What was it again?
If a weak or phony believer in the bible kills, or commits abortion, or adultery, they are leaving the moral compass. At least we have one.

Nonsense. The silly shiboleths of the ancient Jews were the word of God for a certain place, and time, and people.

The TOE is Jim Dandy as long as it remains within the reality of all evolution starting from created kinds. The rest...is BS.

Sometimes truth is poetic.
Sometimes poetry isn't the truth.

The world around us, however is only part of the reality of eternity.
So you claim. Tell you what dad... you let us handle the natural and you can handle the supernatural... deal?

So you use a computer with bravery? Paleeese.
I never claimed to be "brave." I only claim that you are not.

You thing the religious right cooked up pride parades?? get serious.
I was specifically refering to "Sodom pride" parades, which you claim had something to do with atheism. Care to explain? Or is it impossible for you to stay focused?

God grant us the same freedom from yours. Indeed.
I don't have one, so you don't have to worry.

LOL! The copout always used by right-wing Fundies. "I am a hypocrite 'cause my standards are soooooooo high I can't meet them!" :p

Nonsense. The silly shiboleths of the ancient Jews were the word of God for a certain place, and time, and people.
So, the "Word of God" is silly? Glad to see one of you admit it. ;)
