The problem is that there are men out there that feel this way.I wasn't going to respond when it was just a couple of people commenting, but when 6 people take a joke window decal seriously it behooves me to inform you all that IT'S A JOKE.
How is it misogynistic? That means you hate women.Racist and misogynistic jokes are still racist and misogynistic.

any man who treats his daughter like that mistrusts and dislikes women . I’d call that misogyny and I’d also call it emotional abuse bordering on sexual abuseHow is it misogynistic? That means you hate women.
It's a joke, but the attitude behind telling the joke is troubling. It's an exaggeration of being overprotective, which means the father is still overprotective.I wasn't going to respond when it was just a couple of people commenting, but when 6 people take a joke window decal seriously it behooves me to inform you all that IT'S A JOKE.

For some some reason you think thats great and don't see how ridiculous and creepy it is. GrossThis has nothing to do with misogyny, it has to do with fatherly love. A guy down my street has this decal on his truck:
Why "dislikes"? As far as trust, God says not to trust men nor women.any man who treats his daughter like that mistrusts and dislikes women . I’d call that misogyny and I’d also call it emotional abuse bordering on sexual abuse
If you are so opposed to racism, why does your signature quote one of the most racist authors of the 20th century?
The guy openly declared his admiration for Hitler, and if he was alive today, he would certainly be an alt-right activist.
Lovecraft was a racist & homophobe, but that hideous flaw in his character does not, in my view, invalidate his art or some of his other views. The number of authors born more than a century ago who could pass a modern litmus test might be very few.
He was racist even for his time.
Lots of people called him out on it in his own lifetime.
I don't think he was, in an era that gave us the revived Klan and Father Coughlin and Nazism. He had the misfortune of being an eloquent writer and thus expressed his racism with a horrible eloquence. His actual ideas were pretty odd (while still repugnant), and often culturist rather than racist. He occasionally talked about how Asian cultures and Jews (some of them... you know... the good Jews like his wife and Sam Loveman and Aryeh Jay) were in some ways superior to Europeans, but he would be perfectly happy if they could all be superior over there and not confuse his beloved New England.
I've read a lot more letters by Lovecraft rather than to Lovecraft or about Lovecraft, so I may have missed this. Do you have examples you can think of?
