  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Psalm 112 by 4HIM- "Blessed is he who fears the Lord and who finds Bin Laden, he's the man." Totally used to think this one

Sugar by Maroon 5 -"Sugar, you're sweet!' Instead of Yes Please

Loved Van Halen in junior high and thought for years that the lyrics to "Jump" were...

"Can't you see me standing here by the record machine, I eat the worst things you've seen. Can't you see what I mean?"

When in actuality, he says, "Can't you see me standing here by the record machine, I ain't the worst that you've seen. Can't you see what I mean?"

Weird how a 12yr old's brain twists things...

In high school, my friends and I would listen to Linkin Park - yep, typical teenage angst. =P One song in particular had lyrics that went:

"I don't want to be the one
The battles always choose"

We sometimes heard it as:

"I don't want to be the one
who battles all these shoes"

^_^

Have you ever thought you knew the words to a particular song, but it turned out that you were mistaken? Maybe you were singing along with the radio at the top of your lungs when friend pointed it out, maybe you discovered the truth on your own, or maybe you simply think the words to a tune sound different than what's in the liner notes. Whatever the case may be, this is a thread for sharing and commenting on misheard lyrics. Feel free to post videos and/or share stories if you'd like.

The Marmoset Song - YouTube

There was a band I use to listen to all the time in middle school called the 'Beat Crusaders,' a jpunk band who do most of their songs in English and wear a xeroxed picture of themselves on their album covers. Anyways, the singer has such a strong accent that it was hard for me to understand any of their lyrics, but they were great at rocking it out, so I listened for all those years (and kinda still do) not realizing what their lyrics actually says. I'm still looking into it, and I realized that I misheard almost every song. Like check out these songs if you are interested and try to make out the words:

What it sounds like to me

"Back against the wall at Oz,
with the strength of a militant cause"

What it really is

"Back against the wall and odds,
With the strength of a will and a cause"

I prefer imagining troops stationed in Baum's land of Oz.
