  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Strange bedfollows indeed

John 19:15 Those yet cry-out "take-away! take-away! crucify! Him".
Pilate Is saying to them "the King of ye I shall be crucifying?".
Answered the Chief-priests "not we are having a King except Caesar

I appeal to Caesar! Acts 25:11

O ho! A brother in the word, how rare!

(Rev 16:2) And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

(Rev 13:18) Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

(Luk 20:23) But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?
(Luk 20:24) Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.

This is where I get goose bumps, meeting another exegetic :)

Lots of us here! If you ever stumble across the Deeper Fellowship sub-forum, you might get lost for days ... I'd be curious as to your input on the only thread in there I started, which is probably backed up to page 27 by now ^_^

Heavy expo on the breastplate there raze. As the gems are Christians, likewise the Urim and Thummin are extremely interesting in their fulfillment within our witness of God's determinations upon this earth that divides the righteous from the unrighteous. Have you ever looked at that? (Rev and Ezek)
The beauty in recognizing the O.T. breastplate, the tabernacle and the priests, as being fulfilled in US, the Married Israel Bride of Christ, the Royal Priesthood, is one that brings me into intense thankfulness in empowerment in the Gospel of Salvation.
Thanks for the link :)
Blessings!

The dictionary gives secularized versions of these kinds of words. We know what Jesus came for and it was not to start a new religion. Not at all.

Nope, not to start a new religion but to fulfill the true religion.

We do not have religion in Jesus. We are freed from religion in Christ. Thank you, Jesus!

So you do not believe in a universe according to Christ? You do not hold to beliefs and practices according to Christ, and you do not consider yourself one with those who believe in Christ? That is what you are saying, you realize this, right?

this sounds kinda heretical actually . it seems to say that people are saved by the sacraments themselves and not by God's faithfulness.

How do you see the Sacraments as separate from "God's faithfulness", as you put it. Sacraments are "outward signs instituted by Christ to give grace." (Baltimore Catechism).

You seem to have a different definition of "sacrament" to be able to separate these things.

Universe? We live smack dab in the middle of a universe. Hard to ignore.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, and being transformed into His image, I am a sister to others who love and follow after Him. Those who walk with Him and carry on an intimate relationship with Him do not call themselves religious, for what they have with Him goes beyond religion---it is a relationship that supersedes all others, and defines a person. In Christ, we are made free from bondages, and religion is one.

It is all about Jesus!

I like how you claim to be religious in the first half of that post, then start calling religion a bad thing.

You didn't even read the definition of "religion" when I posted it earlier, did you? ^_^
