I for one am ashamed at how repetitive American Television is. There is absolutely no originality in this country's programming anymore. Every new idea that comes along is nothing but the same backbiting reality tv, the same "Family Sitcoms" that just talk about sex, and the same drivel that passes for kids programming.

I wish American TV was more like British Television. Seriously. The UK's creativity barrel never goes dry, and they are not afraid to *gasp* experiment with new concepts.

I know I seem to talk about it alot, but just look at the Young Ones. THe creators of this show created a sitcom that complied with none of thestandards that any person will tell you a good show should have. They created no likeable characters, made them near unintelligible, and then put them in plot lines that make no sense. The show is a master work, and will be thrilling people for decades to come. That is alot more than I can say for some CBS and NBC sitcoms that work by formula."friends" will be forgotten in a decade, but the reason Monty Python's Fllying Circus is so timeless is they dared to do something different .

That's why I watch BBC America on my family's digital cable.

Yeah Tv has gotten really bad. Just look at the rise and fall of the Simpsons. It uses to be a great comedy, not it is just absurdist junk. And then there's the fall of cartoons in general, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Road Runner and Tom and Jerry cartoons, the old Warner Brothers cartoons in general were comedy gold and enjoyed by people of all ages and often had a perfect blend of slap-stick and intelligent humor.

There are good shows on (in re-runs) , but they are usually on at like 2 am like Quantum Leap on the SciFi channel or in the middle of the day like Warner Brothers cartoons and I can't watch them becasue of school.
Have you checked out the Boomerang cable network? They are all there, all day-Bugs, Daffy, Yogi, Huckleberry Hound, Tom & Jerry, and many more!
