They could have, had the Lord commanded. I'm reminded of how Moses brought forth water from a rock (Christ being that Rock) (Numbers 10:11). Not the same, but just as supernatural. If our God could make a donkey speak (Numbers 22:28), then He can certainly make rocks sing His praises. Peace in Christ.

All of creation groans in expectation of being restored/saved.

In a sense, creation "recognizes God". Not that it is sentient, but all things are created by Him and in Him have their being.

Kind of ironic ... Scriptures recognize that donkeys and oxen know their masters. Yet human persons often fail to recognize Jesus as Lord. That's the point we reference in icons of the Nativity of Christ that always include a donkey and an ox.

Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
then it seems reasonable that rocks and stones can cry out.

Yes, they emit radio waves just like us.

Some day the world will become aware enough in academics, technology or psychology to realize the entire creation sings songs. That will be way before people realize the evidence they need to believe they sing songs of praises.

I prefer to go with my intellect, and not wait until the world vindicates something I already know.
