  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

An alternative to consider might be OpenOffice.org

http://www.openoffice.org/

OOo is basically Star Office Suite 5 or 6 (I can't remember which). It has a slideshow much like PowerPoint that is even somewhat compatabile with PowerPoint and it's a totally free application.

You can check out the site for more information. I've used it to create presentations for school and it takes a little while to get use to the layout, but it works nearly as well as PowerPoint 2000.

Powerpoints a good program, but whenever you get the money, try to get the program called Easy Worship. it is so easy to use but you can still upload powerpoint presentations onto it. there's free upgrades over the internet, and you can download different songs. i've been using it for a few months at my church and it's fantastic.
Good luck with your new service.
