You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy.Muslims are actually ready converts to Christ IF they are in small enough numbers in a community to be able to safely convert. in larger Muslim communities, they are threatened with severe violence, if they convert to Christ. But it must be a true "born again" conversion or they, like anyone else is apt to revert to pagan-like ways and fall into apostasy.
It is not only happening to the "Methodist" church. ALL churches will HAVE to decide what they want to do with "islam" in the future.
It is not "scaremongering" if you know the history of Islam
What do YOU know about the history of Islam? It seems you have a poor source of information. I suggest you do some reading about the Covenant of Medina (the region Mohammed was the leader of). They do not assimilate--they eventually take over where their numbers grow beyond a point when they can take over.
History in Brief said:The Medina Charter consists of 47 clauses. 23 clause governed the relationship between Muslims, between Ansar and Muhajirin, while the remaining 24 clauses governed the relations of Muslims with non-Muslims, the Jews and others. In addition to the charter of Medina, it is also known by various names such as Medina agreement, Dustar al-Madinah and Al-Madinah Sahifah. The Medina Charter form the constitution for Medina which was based from the regulations of Islamic law to establish a pure Islamic state that puts people of different races or ethnic groups in one country living peacefully.
The main contents in the Charter were the declaration that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the head of state to all the people of Medina and any dispute shall be referred to him. All the people of Medina is forbidden to plant a hostile or envy among themselves, instead they should be united as one and be known as nation of Medina.
All residents are free to practice their customs and religious ceremonies respectively. All residents of Medina should cooperate in economic and if Medina to be attacked by outsiders all the citizen shall defend its. The Jews freedom are guaranteed as long as they obey the agreements listed in the charter.
The purposed of the Medina Charter was to face a plural society of Medina and was to establish rules that will be complied by all the people. The charter also provide elements to unite people of various races and to establish peace and eliminate any hostility that was occurring before the arrival of Prophet Muhammad to Medina.
Huh?That is why I do not attend that church. They started preaching Islam. 19 if the 9-11 hijackers were Saudi Arabian citizens.
Um, yes my avatar is political. There's nothing inherently wrong with being political. But making politicl statements under the guise of discussing religion? That's something else.Oh--and you are not political with your avatar? The Roman church has always been political since it married itself to temporal power under Constantine. It became apostate in the process.
It's scaremongering when you deliberately misrepresent things. It is not "scaremongering" if you know the history of Islam. It is completely incompatible with Western democracy. Why do you think early American leaders were always wary of taking "Mohammedans" as immigrants? They do not assimilate--they eventually take over where their numbers grow beyond a point when they can take over. Immigration without assimilation is invasion. It is foolish to maintain anything else.
Exactly!!It's scaremongering when you deliberately misrepresent things.
After I read the story entitled, “Methodist Churches Converting To ‘Virtual Mosques’ For Muslim Migrants,” I spent much of the day in mild shock. I couldn’t believe what was going on inside of a Christian denomination whose founding was so deeply influenced by the great man John Wesley.
I had to know what Methodists thought of this. Surely they didn’t go along with it. At least not all of them or even a majority of them. My assumption, and hope, was that it was a very small minority of Methodists who thought that having worship of Allah in their building was an appropriate, God-honoring event. How could they think their church should double as a church and a Mosque? Surely they had not lost their way and could see how apostate and foreign such a thing was to Christianity and the New Testament. Surely this was just one man who had been led astray or who was seeking his 10 minutes of fame.
So I took to the phones, contacting my Methodist friends to ask their thoughts. Here are some of their reactions and concerns. CONTINUED AT Methodists Fearful of Islamification of Their Churches - Resistance Feed
No, it is NOT a legitimate concern. It would only be legitimate if the idea that the UMC was turning its churches into mosques were true. It is NOT true, the story is just another piece of FALSE NEWS the has become so popular in our world today. By legitimizing it you are giving the devil a foothold. It's time Christians quit engaging in gossip and fear mongering, for that is all that this post and the majority of responses to it in this thread have been. Nothing legitimate about this story at all. This is a legitimate concern, although I daresay it would have been more legitimate in say, 1950, before the Methodists began to yield control to liberal elements.
You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy.
Reflect on this.
Anyone wanna share what Islam means?
This is what could happen when there's love between the three Abrahamic faiths (Jews, Christians, and Muslims):Islamophobia? Has anyone heard of Chrislam? This is what could happen if you allow worship of Allah in your church. Anyone wanna share what Islam means?

~Sanctuary@Pico Union « The Pico Union Project
This was hosted by the Jewish community ^ It was an event called, "Faithsgiving" where--side by side--people of all three faiths prepared and handed out meals to those in need. This was from the hosts:
"To all those who made this years FaithsGiving Turkey giveaway a success...Thank you!
Witnessing the Seeds of Hope team work together with the community to divide up and distribute over 1200 lbs of produce embodied our mission "to love your neighbor, is to know your neighbor"
Distributing free trees from KYCC was hope for the future.
Watching the children make art and write letters with their parents was...heartwarming.
Seeing hundreds of our neighbors line up for over 100 free turkeys was a true 'gift'.
Watching volunteers rush out to buy extra turkeys was icing on the cake!
Breaking bread at the end of the evening with Muslim, Christian and Jewish congregations was food for thought.
Today was a humble reminder that we have much to be grateful for, and that much work remains to be done.
Si se puede - it is possible! It is all possible with a bit of inspiration and perspiration and grace.
Happy Joyous Thanksgiving!"
Genuine faith creates love.....it's the distorted and twisted faiths (further spread by fear---like what this claim does) that creates division and even deaths. Have so many people forgotten the parable of the Good Samaritan?
Pardon?ThT I
We say that faith is "personal".....right (a "personal relationship")? So shouldn't we allow others their own faith? Instead of reacting in fear (and comparing extremists that have a totally distorted interpretation of Islam to their faith....just as there are extremists that call themselves "christian" as well).....maybe it would be better to get to know more about our "neighbors" instead of judging them?Breaking bread and getting along is great, but worshiping the One True Living GOD is different altogether. If only we could all play nice.
