You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy.

Reflect on this.

It is not only happening to the "Methodist" church. ALL churches will HAVE to decide what they want to do with "islam" in the future.

This is sadly true. The biggest "Pentecostal/Non denominational?" church promotes that Allah and the God from the Bible are the same. Such digusting teaching in that church and it's taken captive millions on youth around the world with their smooth sailing preaching.

It is not "scaremongering" if you know the history of Islam

They do not assimilate--they eventually take over where their numbers grow beyond a point when they can take over.
What do YOU know about the history of Islam? It seems you have a poor source of information. I suggest you do some reading about the Covenant of Medina (the region Mohammed was the leader of).

I'm glad that there are some who can see past the fool's click bait that this post is. The premise that the United Methodist Church is engaged in the things mentioned by the OP is entirely untrue, even the specific church in question is not doing what the Geller story implies. The question raised by the OP is based on a fabricated story, the creator of that story is guilty of bearing false witness, and those who have passed it along (like the OP) are guilty of engaging in unsubstantiated gossip. These are things that the Bible specifically warns can condemn a person to hell. I wouldn't be so worried about the future direction of United Methodism has the prowling lion about to devour your own souls.

Oh--and you are not political with your avatar? The Roman church has always been political since it married itself to temporal power under Constantine. It became apostate in the process.
Um, yes my avatar is political. There's nothing inherently wrong with being political. But making politicl statements under the guise of discussing religion? That's something else.

I don't think anyone looks at my avatar and thinks I'm making a religious comment.

It's scaremongering when you deliberately misrepresent things.

This is a legitimate concern, although I daresay it would have been more legitimate in say, 1950, before the Methodists began to yield control to liberal elements.

No, it is NOT a legitimate concern. It would only be legitimate if the idea that the UMC was turning its churches into mosques were true. It is NOT true, the story is just another piece of FALSE NEWS the has become so popular in our world today. By legitimizing it you are giving the devil a foothold. It's time Christians quit engaging in gossip and fear mongering, for that is all that this post and the majority of responses to it in this thread have been. Nothing legitimate about this story at all.

Reflect on this.

Are you saying a Muslim can't possibly convert?

I've known Muslims who have willingly given up homes, mother, father, brothers, sisters, and even country to follow Christ. I'd rate their conversions as more true than most American Christians, who haven't had to give up anything to call themselves "Christian."

Islamophobia? Has anyone heard of Chrislam? This is what could happen if you allow worship of Allah in your church. Anyone wanna share what Islam means?
Dearborn, Michigan 2016 - Safeshare.TV
This is what could happen when there's love between the three Abrahamic faiths (Jews, Christians, and Muslims):

~Sanctuary@Pico Union « The Pico Union Project
This was hosted by the Jewish community ^ It was an event called, "Faithsgiving" where--side by side--people of all three faiths prepared and handed out meals to those in need. This was from the hosts:

"To all those who made this years FaithsGiving Turkey giveaway a success...Thank you!

Witnessing the Seeds of Hope team work together with the community to divide up and distribute over 1200 lbs of produce embodied our mission "to love your neighbor, is to know your neighbor"

Distributing free trees from KYCC was hope for the future.

Watching the children make art and write letters with their parents was...heartwarming.

Seeing hundreds of our neighbors line up for over 100 free turkeys was a true 'gift'.

Watching volunteers rush out to buy extra turkeys was icing on the cake!

Breaking bread at the end of the evening with Muslim, Christian and Jewish congregations was food for thought.

Today was a humble reminder that we have much to be grateful for, and that much work remains to be done.

Si se puede - it is possible! It is all possible with a bit of inspiration and perspiration and grace.
Happy Joyous Thanksgiving!"

Genuine faith creates love.....it's the distorted and twisted faiths (further spread by fear---like what this claim does) that creates division and even deaths. Have so many people forgotten the parable of the Good Samaritan?

Breaking bread and getting along is great, but worshiping the One True Living GOD is different altogether. If only we could all play nice.
We say that faith is "personal".....right (a "personal relationship")? So shouldn't we allow others their own faith? Instead of reacting in fear (and comparing extremists that have a totally distorted interpretation of Islam to their faith....just as there are extremists that call themselves "christian" as well).....maybe it would be better to get to know more about our "neighbors" instead of judging them?
