I finally met the priest at the local parish here where I live at Immaculate Conception of Mary. I explained to him that I tried to get in touch and he said that he's sorry he never got around to me and I said "No...I understand you guys stay busy." He said "No not at all! I just don't know how to use email." hahahahaha

All this time he never got to me because he can't use a computer!^_^
Anyway the reason I met him is because they had a Come See at Immaculate Conception so I went and seen. They had a question area and I asked a bunch of questions. I must have talked a little too much. They loved my son and they were all very excited.

The weird thing is I've never met the priest before and about a week ago I had a dream about him................and he looked exactly the same when I met him! Weird

Anyway it was a great night. They will be very happy to baptize my son when I come into the church. Woo hoo. :)
I'm starting RCIA September the 14th they believe that's the date. I gave the coordinator both of my phone numbers and......she said she will give me a call when RCIA is about to start up so I can remember. They do the classes on Mondays from 7-9 p.m.

I'm so excited! I'll be joining all of you Easter 2010!

How wonderful for you Brikkz! Welcome! You have so much joy and learning in store for you. It is also wonderful that you are planning to raise your son in the Catholic faith as well, you be giving him such a wonderful gift. I have not made my confirmation yet because I turned away from my faith while in high school and so I will be participating in RCIA classes this fall as well in order to make my confirmation at last! You will be in my heart and prayers as you begin this exciting journey. Congratulations!

Yeah this priest wasn't intimidating at all. I think we were the same height so that helped lol. And I don't plan on doing world domination. I just hope Catholics dominate Heaven I mean of course God will be our King but....we'll be the majority of Earth things...right? right? :p

Wonderful news.
Your priest sounds sweet. lol

I know very few priests who do the computer thing. They don't seem to have the time, much.
And then not knowing how to use email. :D:D

I talked to the RCIA coordinator and she seemed irritated when I mentioned I watched Mother Angelica and she was like "Noooo nooo noo.." When I mentioned her name like it was a sin or something and I don't get what so bad about Mother Angelica she never seemed to say anything opposite of what the Church teaches. Did I miss something about Mother Angelica or am I naive?

I am so happy for you, I was a little worried that you lost interest in the Catholic Church because no one got back to you at the local parish
but then I did not want to bring it up because I did not want to seem like a bully "hey why r u not catholics yet grrr" lol
wow I am sooooo happy for you and your family

as for the Mother Angelica thing, I dunno, u might wanna ask her why she does not care for Mother Angelica?

I didn't really lose interest just sat back for a little while and gave it a rest until I got somewhere. I had been praying and waiting. That's all I could do. I went on a walk with the baby and they had a come see at Immaculate Conception and they all welcomed me with open arms and were happy to have me. The priest said I'm welcomed to go to Mass whenever I want and he won't care if I don't know what to do

Glad it went ok.I love Mother Angelica too.Im getting confirmed easter 2010 also an my son baptised. Its so great isnt it.We must keep in touch
Yeah its great. I'm excited.
I think she made good points. I guess h
Let's just say that Mother Angelica has a very firm take on the faith that not everyone is comfortable with. :) It's a big church -- there's room for all types.

Glad to hear that you're starting RCIA!
Well that's too bad if people aren't comfortable with the truth. Sometimes the truth hurts. I never heard her lie about anything.

I don't care about others opinions I just want to get through RCIA and if this parish is not right for me there are others. :)

You'll run into that. But RCIA should be thanking EWTN for the many converts it has brought into the Church.

The Catholic Church are those that follow it's teachings.

You'll get the same reaction from some about the Pope.

They think them too conservative or simply don't like the delivery.

*shrug*

I like Mother Angelica too. :)

Congrats! Glad your taking the steps to come into the Church.

I love Mother Angelica too, she is so "awesome". :D If you read her bio written by Raymond Ayrro you will understand why there are some that don't like her. The book is so good, I couldn't put it down....lol. I started on a Saturday night, and read till I dropped....then woke up the next morning and read it before it was time to leave for Mass. Honestly, I was quite torn...I didn't want to stop reading. Instead of eating out at a resturant after Mass, I told my hubby lets just grab a hamburger, because I wanted to get home and finish the book. I laughed, I cried.

Is this the only parish in your area? If not you might want to check out someother ones and check out their RCIA programs.

That is truly odd that a Catholic would look downward on the same lady who founded EWTN. The first thing I was told when talking to the RCIA director was to start watching EWTN.

Perhaps she was worried that such an opinionated Catholic would bear the wrong impression on a newcomer. Of course I wouldn't know, considering my cable doesn't come with EWTN.. Not that I'm bitter of anything..

GASP! KP!!! No EWTN? Oh dear ...

Any chance you ever getting EWTN on your cable? I sure hope you do someday. There's alot of interesting things you could learn from it. And lots of inspirational things, too.

But you can visit their website ewtn.com.

They stream it online if you ever want to check it out: EWTN TV and EWTN Radio, Global Catholic Networks Live Video of Catholic Programs 24 Hours a Day

I mainly watch for Mother Angelica's show and Life on the Rock. The Abundant Life is pretty good too. I like the smiley lady on that show. I can't remember her name, but she's very smart; I've stumbled on her show at like 3 AM and seen her take on modernism like a cold-blooded killer.
