Messiah wanted to change the attitudes, not the Law.

Man had become too self-righteous. Too haughty. They believed themselves to be better than their fellow man. They would look upon one another and say "This man hath more sin than I" and judge that person in their hearts. Perhaps even in action. They would pray out in the open for all to see. Man had a perverted attitude toward each other and to God.

How can Man have a pure, good relationship with the Creator of all things with this sort of attitude in their hearts? Remember, God corrects his children.

So, The Messiah came to change not the Law, but change the attitudes of Mankind forever. For example, in the parable of the adulterous woman, in which Jesus turns back the mob with the famous "He who hath not sinned cast the first stone". Jesus was not saying that Sin will go unpunished. When God, through Moses, instituted the old Law, it was because Sin was a detestable thing to God. And it is still an abomination unto God. But God, through Jesus, has chosen to remove the punishment from our hands - because it was corrupting our behavior with each other. Our hearts were not pure for each other, and our hearts were not pure unto God. For Man would pray to God with a sense of self-importance, as if he could come unto God "cleaner" than his neighbor. But we all know there is none of us clean and worthy in comparison to the Father, who is in Heaven. This attitude is not a good thing for Man. So the Messiah came to take punishment out of our hands - so that it may change the attitudes of all Men everywhere.

To remind all of us - that we are all sinners. Each and every one. And your redemption, and your sin, is a private matter between yourself and God. Your redemption and forgiveness, will now also be private between you and God. No longer will Mankind be the Executioner, and feel proud of himself, and judge his Neighbor. No longer will Mankind know of your sin. For Jesus became the perfect sacrifice, to provide a way for all men to be forgiven and come to God on their own.

You will all love each other, be kind to each other, and leave the punishment to God. This fits with the Messiah's other teachings - Judge not, lest ye be judged.
