Studies have shown that places in the world where the soil has been depleted of zinc and selenium are more prone to disease and deaths from those diseases. One scandinavian country has taken the most sensible approach and passed a law requireing that these minerals be added to the soil. Toxins and deficiencies can cause serious health issues both physical and mental. Modified fasts can eliminate toxins but only temporarliy because they usually lead to deficiencies. Few people get enough Iodine or vitamin D in their diet. Finding good sources of these nutrients is not as easy as you might have been led to believe.

Very interesting, indeed!

I do know how people who are nutritionally deficient, are more likely to end up with all sorts of ailments. I believe it could also be a factor in regards to mental illness as well.

Our bodies need vitamins and minerals. All the junk, fast and processed foods out there only make people sick. And the big fast food chains obviously care about one thing...money and power.

I'd read that vitamin D can reduce cancer risk by 77%! Why do I keep forgetting to take it?!:o:D

OCD and ADD are somewhat 1st World Problems. I do have a severe case of ADD. But it has as much to do with how fast the world is nowadays than anything else. My mind just can't keep up in a sense. In the past, life was not as competitive as it is today. I can't speak for OCD. ADD is like having a filing cabinet with paperwork just thrown into it. Recovering the information you need requires more work to keep it organized in your head. Consistent activity makes it easier. And that is more difficult in 2015 than in 1915.

For the 1st world Countries, it doesn't surprise me there would be a much higher percentage of people with mental and physical disabilities. Not that in the third world, they don't have problems of their own. In Africa, there are kids who have to ride bikes for miles to school, fearing at the same time a lion or some other wild animal could eat them. It's happened, and a lot more than once! My Parent's saw a segment on it, on some TV show.

Here in the western world, we may not have as much fear, in worrying about being attacked and eaten by a wild animal. However, that's also
a possibility on where one is geographically located.

The higher percentage of physical and mental ailments I believe is from the way the 1st world operates. Stress and pressure from long working hours. The pressure of having to succeed in economies that aren't as stable as they were 40 years ago. Environmental factors also an issue, with toxins in our water and food. Tap water is horrible now, for instance! Fluoride, benzine, bleach and a lot more have been found in tap water. We can thanks the corporations and huge companies for this mess.

It was around ten years ago that the most amazing thing happened in my life. U was reading my Bible. I came upon the verse that said, "it is better to be blind in both eyes then it is to go blind spiritually." I prayed that I would never become spiritually blind. Within two days of saying that prayer I went blind in my left eye. Shortly after the vision became extremely blurry in the right eye. With help of reading glasses and a magnifying glass I continued to read the bible. I began having these strange attacks. They became so bad that I wound up going to the hospital. I was having a panic attack brought on by stress. I was having all sorts of health problems. I found out that I had diabetes and it is so bad that I am on insulin. I was also put on anti-depressants. I never had depression! I took myself off of the pills. (Always check with your doctor.) I began going to a retina specialist. He had a personal grudge against me. He was very professional but, something in his demeanor was just strange. My husband kept telling the doctor that God was going to heal my eye. During this time I quit smoking. That is what the doctor had against me. His parents smoked and developed health problems. When he saw that I had quit he gave me a series of shots. I went back to him with most of my vision restored except for flashers. Okay, plain speaking, he had a God-like attitude and didn't want any part of believing in prayer. After my eyesight returned he told us, "I didn't heal your eye, God did."

It kept bothering me. Why did God allow this to happen to me? Then I read the verse where Jesus is asked what the blind man or his parents did to make him blind. Jesus answered that it wasn't either one the man was made blind so that He could heal the man and show to His disciples that He is our Lord and Savior.

This is my very first post on these boards. When it comes to mental health, some are physical and some are extreme mental pressures. People with mental problems need to be prayed for. The people who are really lead by the enemy are very cunning. Their words are like milk and honey. It's their deceit that finally gives them away.

Hugs to everyone! I love the Lord with all my heart. I have a hunger for meeting more brothers and sisters in Christ.

Interesting story! And a hearty welcome to the CF forums!:)

I really don't know why God would take your vision like that. Maybe he just wanted you to learn a lesson? Boggles my mind , but God's ways are higher than ours, so I don't really question God's moves.

A lot of people's egos get out of control, when they become successful, or start to make a lot of money. Doctors are scientists, and apparently a lot of the scientific community is atheistic.

Thank you for the warm welcome. My life style brought on the blindness. Smoking and not eating right. God gives us free will. I am not a theology student. I barely graduated from high school. I just know that God healed me. I think about it this way, I glorify in my blindness because God used me to be a witness to his love. Through me God was able to show a doctor that He is real and that Jesus died on the cross for him. He has children. Maybe he will tell his children about the woman that God healed. I am not the potter just the clay. God's ways are not for us to fully understand. Each one of us are given knowledge by God. I am just glad that I am redeemed!

You're right. God does give us free will, and we have the ability to follow his commandments or break them. To be believers or unbelievers. The free will comes at a cost though.

We know if we don't heed God's warnings about disobedience, we're going to face consequences for our actions. I'm not perfect either, and have an addiction to sweets, especially chocolate. I sometimes eat more junk food than I know I should. If something were to happen to me, I know it was my own doing that caused it. Anything that hurts us, physically, psychologically or otherwise is sin.

Unbelief should be the biggest concern for anyone. Not only will they pay for sin in their lifetime, but they also won't be forgiven for their sins, by not accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

Nord, you do not have an addiction to sweets. You have one or more deficiencies and you are interpreting your body's cry for help to correct the deficiency as craving sweets. I shold know, been there, done that. That is why I have been working on a process that will allow us to determine and eliminate our toxins and deficiencies. Trial & error guessing based on lab tests or symptoms does not work.

hope you found what you were looking for

Well I was intrigued by your story, BL. I did believe there was a hell, but wasn't quite sure what it was like. Getting four or more stories from people
where their stories don't coincide, only baffled me.

You're saying Bill Wiese's story was the closest to yours. Very interesting.

Thank you for letting me know. I thank God I'm saved, and will never have to go there!:):) We should all feel the same way as believers!

Wow, Singleye! I didn't know this. It is likely that because of nutritional
deficiencies, that I'm craving sweets. Looks like I need to eat more veggies
and fruit! Not like I'm eating them every day.

I also wonder if it has to do with the mind being too focused on other more important issues that the mind doesn't have time to be depressed or whatever the issue may be. Having to walk or ride your bike for miles and having to do so much physical labor just to stay alive keeps the mind too active to worry about things that people worry about today. Driving in cars, living in homes with AC and heat, having food or what passes for food readily available and not having to worry about being eaten by a lion when you step out your door etc, the mind has less real worries and an idle mind creates it's own issues like people who can't function unless everything is neat in a row or without counting the cracks in a wall etc. like those with OCD. I a think a person with OCD will forget about counting cracks and needing everything to be neat in a line if his thoughts had to focus more on how to get his next meal and how to evade wild animals or how to survive through a drought etc like what people faced in the past. Also they say exercise helps with a lot ailments too as well as helps with depression and people in the past had to do more physical exertion just in everyday living because they did not have the technology that we have today. Not to mention they did not have the overly processed "food" we have today. Plus people spent more time outdoors in sunlight getting vitamin D whereas today most people work 8 hrs + indoors. I think all of that could contribute to the issues we see today.

You're very welcome, LightFollower!:)

That's true, I used to be addicted to sweets and fast food too till I removed it from my diet. I went back to eating like I did as a kid. Me and my siblings never had sweets or junk food or processed food or soda as kids, we only had junk food or sweets once a week, on Saturdays. We also got our allowances on Saturday and were allowed to hit the candy store. It was a real treat for us because we didn't have it every day. And we never went to fast food places except every once in a while. Once I became an adult I decided to eat like everyone else ate and became addicted to junk food, sweets and sugar etc. So now I've come full circle and I'm back to eating healthy.

Wow that is very interesting! About 10 or so years ago, I started praying to God everyday asking Him to keep me healthy as long as possible and that I wanted to live as long a life as possible too and a strange thing started happening to me! My eyes started being open to eating and lifestyle and that's how/when I started to get into a healthy lifestyle and stopped eating sweets, junk food, soda etc. and I lost a lot of weight. When I started praying to be as healthy as possible and live as long as possible, I thought God would just do it by miracle LOL! I didn't even know or fully understand back then about how lifestyle affects health like that. I just thought doctors told you that stuff because they are doctors and have to say that stuff. LOL! But when I made that prayer, God answered that prayer by opening my eyes and changing me. When people see how I eat they think I'm doing it because I have to, but I don't have any illnesses, no diabetes or high blood pressure or any of that, I'm eating healthy like this so that I won't have those things! Thank God I never smoked so that's one thing I didn't have to try to give up.

Fond of mocking what you do not understand? We cannot get all our nutrients from plants, we are omnivores not herbivores.

I wasn't trying to mock you. I know meat has protein. Organic meat having a lot more nutrition I'm sure. Inorganic meat we buy at the grocery store is likely gone through a process called irradiation, whereby the meat has it's nutrition zapped out of it. They will say it prevents people from people getting life threatening diseases like e. coli and such.

Speaking from the experience of knowing people who are suffering from some form of mental illness -- I would say that it is from unconfessed sin, which has allowed for demonic strongholds.

So, in short -- yes.

In Scripture, the Demoniac is a perfect example. He was a raving lunatic (or worse), and once delivered, he sat there in his "right mind."

In real life, think about Nicky Cruz or David Berkowitz ("Son of Sam" now "Son of Hope"). They were socio/psychopaths saved by Jesus, delivered from extreme mental illness/personality disorders -- into sanity and Christian ministries.

I have nothing to hide. No, I never murdered or raped anyone, or have a criminal record. I can tell you that, just from my difficult upbringing, being bullied, slandered and teased as a kid and teenager, brought the worst out of me in my mid-late teenage years.

What initially was fear and anxiety in my earlier years, manifested itself into high anxiety, anger, bitterness, confusion and hate when I hit about sixteen. Also mild OCD. At that time, I was agnostic. I had a feeling there
was a higher power, but wasn't quite sure. No Bible in the home. My Dad's side was afflicted with alcoholism and partying. My Mother's side were mostly comprised of non-drinkers, but a very serious bunch. Not the most compassionate of people.

Looking back in hindsight, I would almost say it was almost like being possessed, when anxiety and anger took over. I'd been an easy going kid who wouldn't lash out. Some years later, all the pent up anger manifested itself, that I could no longer keep anything inside, no matter how hard I tried. I was a skinny kid with glasses and acne. Oh, I was attracted to girls but didn't like them personally. My Mother could have a cold demeanor, so I though they'd be the same way.

Now that I have some Biblical knowledge, I can say for certain that it was Satan working in my life to destroy me. He was also using the people who hurt me, so I would in turn hate them. And their sin of hurting me, against them and myself.

If I'd had died five years ago, of course by that time not being as anxious, angry or bitter, I know I'd have gone to hell. I wasn't saved then. And it wasn't until four years ago, when joining the Salvation Army, that I finally started to learn about Christianity and the Bible.

I think nutrition is very important, and I'll admit I'm a person who's guilty of not getting enough of it. I don't eat veggies or fruit everyday. When I get hungry at 4 or 5PM I'll occasionally get lazy and opt for something easy, like a can of soup or a bowl of cereal. It gets very cold up here in Canada, during the Winter, and can hamper a lot of peoples plans to enjoy the outdoors.

I'm happy for you that you are doing all the right things. I'll bet you are looking and feeling a lot better for it!;) I need to do the same!

A lot of things have changed over the last two centuries. A lot of our foods in the supermarkets are processed, with synthetic ingredients. There are also a lot of things inside our homes that can distract us. The internet, video games, texting, TV etc. Once we get obsessed with anything inside our homes, it can become a real issue I believe.

It was pretty much the same for me as a kid. We usually had vegetables almost every night. I got candy with my allowance. Of course that didn't apply when I went traveling with my Dad, when he sold to a Province wide store chain, back in the day. I got spoiled a little then.:D

Both my parent's worked when I was a kid, so I had babysitters. Most kicked the kids out during the day. You went out whether you wanted to go or not. Until technology really started to take off with video game consoles and the invent of the net, I really didn't spend a lot of time inside, that I remember.

Wooo that's some scary stuff! :prayer:

It's obviously not called hell for nothing.

Satan is deceiving a heck'uva lot of people to go to this place. Thank you! Thank you Lord Jesus, that we as believers won't be one of these people!
I could never thank you enough, Dear Lord! Amen!:prayer:

Thanks for letting us know this B.L!
