  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hello Mac

You may want to check what sources they used when they researched those topics.

Yes, you are correct! We most always take time to view the scriptures and compare them with the Word of God.

ahh... MAC....the scriptures are the Word of God.

I don't believe that you can defend your belief on your own and are avoiding addressing any of the points I brought up because of that.

So I will drop the subject with you now.

I have according to what I see and read, but it is not in my power to bring conviction upon you but of the Holly Spirit. If don’t see Michael as Jesus that is fine I don’t have nothing to hold against thee, but I do according to what I have read. I use some the topic as commentators like we all do to compare but I also spent time looking at those verses in the Word of God to see what else is in view. You may drop if you desire but we all have the same walk as to read and study and according to His will we see many things in the Word of God. (Not always for the flesh is always against the Spirit) I cant and would not satisfy you no matter what I say or how true it is for in your view on this topic you don’t see as I see. I continue in the search and study of Michael been Christ the Prince and Savior of His People.

Good Day

MAC, make excuses if you want. You are not addressing any points that I made, and are simply quoting an SDA site.

I wil pray for your enlightenment by the Holy Spirit.

Hello Mac

Mt 2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

How do you account for the Angel of the lord appearing to Joseph in a dream after Jesus is born?

Mt 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

Again Jesus was in the tomb and it is the Angel of the Lord who unseals the tomb

Lu 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

It is the Angel of the lord who announces the birth of Christ in Bethlehem.

Da 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Daniel plainly states that Michael is one of the chief princes. There is only one Jesus and he was never a Prince.

Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

In the Old Testament it is plainly stated that our saviour will not be an Angel named Michael

Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

In the New Testament the Saviour plainly told us exactly who he is. and it is not an Angel named Michael

yours in Christ

If it sounds to you like excuses I can do no more than just tell you that I just agree with that view on that topic of Michael been Jesus. Also in some of my post I have quoted from reformed views that agree with the same matter of Michael. I spent time going over this verses and the Deity of God is in place we can be narrow minded some times specially when we are thought for so many years the same thing without looking unto it more in too. Is there any limitation to the Godhead?

Who? You need to identify them. If you are going to quote someone, you need to give them credit.

Thanks guys for your input (although it got drowned out!)

The Catholic understanding of Melchizedek's foreshadowing of Christ is even deeper than what the few of you have mentioned, and I'm preparing a thread for OBOB on the subject. (Remember: what did "Mel" offer as sacrifice to the Lord?)

Please forgive me for not getting back to you. Our understanding of 'Mel' is deeper also.

Yes, it is significant what 'Mel' offered Abram (bread and wine) and what Abram gave him - 1/0 th of the spoils.
We learn more about 'Mel' in Hebrews:

Hbr 7:2 to whom also Abraham apportioned a tenth part of all {the spoils,} was first of all, by the translation {of his name,} king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace.

Hbr 7:3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually.

Hbr 7:6 But the one whose genealogy is not traced from them collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed the one who had the promises.Hbr 7:7 But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater.Under the Old covenant which was made with Moses, only Levites could be priests. And they died, and new priests had to be called from the same tribe.

But under the new Covenant, Jesus is our High Priest, but he was born of the tribe of Judah, a non-priestly tribe. As a priest according to the order of Mechizedek, He holds His priesthood permenantly. So:

Hbr 7:24 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently.

Hbr 7:25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

That is a key point of Hebrews.
