  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Has anyone been to medjugorie, ive heard so many beautiful stories about the pilgrimage in magazines and books that im awed, theres been so many healings and conversions reported from this little place?
You may want to give the following your consideration:

Matt 24:22-24 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

I see what you mean, but theres been so many conversions there too.

Perhaps, but there have also been hundreds if not thousands of "conversions" at Billy Graham rallies also, but their records show that Six months later those "converts" are no different then they were before they "went forward."

Many people have an emotional experience that they equate a "conversion" experience. Ever read Jesus' parable of the Sower and the seeds? Only one type of soil is actually representative of being saved.

I've read a bit about it and would love to visit the place.

Personally I feel, {and we are personally allowed to believe in what is considered 'personal revelations'}...as long as the revelations do NOT change the 'Churches' teachings, it is ok to believe.

Instead the 'messages' have pushed ppl to convert their hearts, and to return to CHURCH.

Nothing bad about that..and yes we are told to discern in St Matthew.

I found an example of 'do not follow'...does anyone remember the pagan statues drinking milk in India in the early nineties?
NOW no miracles were performed to heal...but ppl ran to see this. Evil I believe. And since it directly opposes Christ, since pagan statues are doing something 'without' explanation...that is an example of being careful to avoid.

WE see 'odd' cults rise up, and have been rising up...since the 1800's that denounce the divinity of Christ, and that is also 'Do not go' to them.

BUT Medjugorje, if we really know everything that has happened there...cannot be from evil.
Millions of souls have changed their lives to live in accord to God..and millions have been awakened to God. Miracles of the 'soul' and the 'physical ailments' to being cured show us that indeed..this could well be from God.

WE must get past the 'Do not follow' in St Matthew, and look at...
ALL of the Bible. Whereas we are told the Lord shall be with us always.
We are never orphaned and abandoned.

How we discern...?

IF such apparitions push ppl back to church, and ask them to seek forgiveness of sins, and to be prepared, and to pray more, and to love God and Jesus more...is that bad?

I cannot see the devil wanting this...for then how would souls returning completely to God, and removing themsleves from sin, be a benefit to satan?

I know the messages, and my life was converted... COMPLETELY back to Jesus, thru His Mother...

She brought Him to us the first time, and she only wants to do so again.

The Cup is Filling....we can see all of the signs in St Matthew being observed. BUT we do not know the time...we must not be like the silly virgins.

I did it again.. I have too much to say.

I have an Aunt and Uncle who have gone there twice. They were not able to climb the hill, actually they said it was more of a small mountain and very rocky, but they went to Mass there and said they had a very wonderful spirit filled experience. They were both in their 70's at the time, my Uncle has since past away and my Aunt is now in her 80"s and she said she would love to go back again. She said it is very humbling.
