Medieval II Total War

This is one of the best games I have ever played. It allows you to direct epic battle scenes the likes of Braveheart(minus the blood). You can have 1,500 troops on a 3.D. battle field at your command. You can lead a grand campaign to conquer Europe, Northern Africa, and the Middle East. Look it up to find out more. Lol, I sound like an advertiser.

I really liked it too. The problem is that I keep getting errors with it. I had an awesome Byzantine campaign going on, just about to conquer Venice, and I have a saved game, but if I end the turn the game crashes.

Oh yeah, the Papacy was pretty interesting too. Inquisitors are much more effective than assassins (creepy), and sending bishops to convert the holy land really boosts their piety. Makes it easier for them to get elected as the next pope.

I would play it more but the crashes makes it too unreliable. I'll probably have to get a patch... I've been playing Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion instead with Invasio Barbarorum: Flagellum Dei mod, and the setting in it is just awesome!

I agree. I have experience strange crashes out of nowhere as well. The papacy was very interesting except the weapon of excommunication doesn't have a huge amount of power. Right now, I got the expansion pack to Medieval II. It is called Medieval II Total War Kingdoms. It is one of the biggest expansion packs out there.

I haven't got Kingdoms yet, I'll probably get it... and hope it won't crash too much. The Teutonic and Holy Land campaigns just sound so intriguing! How does the Teutonic Order work anyway?

The Teutonic Order starts out with a whole load of red brick castles. They do not have a family tree, they only have a Hochmeister(grand master) and generals. Once the Hochmeister dies, the best general in your faction becomes the next Hochmeister.
