Have you been to the Vatican? Lots of restaurants. There's a Burger King in the Old City in Jerusalem too. Nobody died.

I have never been to Rome, but I do spend some time in Italy. There are lots of fantastic places to eat good local food. I won't eat at the McDonald's three blocks away

Not Catholic (that I know of), but I read about an Episcopalian church with drive through communion, and others that have services where people sit in their cars like a drive-in theater.

I once saw a Pizza Hut in Venice, Italy. I mean, with the countless pizzerrias in Italy they had to open up an American franchise of pizza, in the land of pizza. I think this was more for the tourists benefit.

Guess I don´t understand why McDonalds becomes objectionable when in the Vatican.

because it is unhealthy food and it is a company that pays people poverty level wages?

but other countries have better minimum wage laws, so maybe that is less of an issue in Vatican/Italy?

I find this more upsetting then the McDonald's at the Vatican
