  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So I tried to take the two tests posted by OP. The first one 504 Gateway Time-out'd me. The second one says that I'm INTJ:

INTJ
Introvert(56%) iNtuitive(12%) Thinking(1%) Judging(56%)

  • You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (56%)
  • You have slight preference of Intuition over Sensing (12%)
  • You have marginal or no preference of Thinking over Feeling (1%)
  • You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (56%)

I took another MBTI test from another site and got ISFJ before. I would have to say that I'm more ISFJ. Anyway, I don't believe that MBTI tests are always correct.

As I stated in another post, the MBTI has lost a lot of it's muster of late and is questioned regarding validity for psychology professionals.

It may give you a good read on your personality type or it may not, depending on different variables. When people retake the test at a later time, it has been shown, that in 50% of the cases, the personality type result, is different and this gives significant pause to many.

Not saying it is useless tool, just that the error rate is much higher than they claim.

Goodbye to MBTI, the Fad That Won't Die | Adam Grant

The fundamental flaw with any personality assessment outside long term observation is that it relies on the subject to answer questions. The internal struggle between the true self and the ideal self is something we all grapple with our entire lives, and when it comes to personality testing most people answer the questions with a least a degree of of how they'd like to be rather than how they actually are.

I took the official test a while ago and got INFP. On the test introversion was without a doubt, perceiving a little clear, intuition not clear, and feeling hardly visible. :p
I went through a hard time a few years ago where I felt like I was a completely different person then before due to hard times. My sister who is an INFJ pointed out the MBTI functions rather then just the 4 letters. I researched that for a while and became confident that I am INFP. The more I learned about cognitive functions versus just MBTI letters has helped me understand it better as well as helped me understand some people better.
One thing that some people get confused on I guess is thinking that MBTI is a "personality test" when it really is hardly a glimpse of who a person is. I think it is a useful tool for helping to understand others better and to help communicate better, but not everything you read about a myers briggs type will be accurate for everyone.

I took the enneagram thing a couple times and it typically is 5w6. Enneagram seems less scientifically measured from what I remember. But I feel that 5w6 fits me pretty well from what I've read.

I find this stuff interesting. :p

Yes, I completely agree about the cognitive functions  I have found them to be fascinating!

I'm not certain of my personality type, but I usually have results of INTP or other times INFJ. I need to study the cognitive functions more to be sure of my personality type.

The last cognitive functions test I took my results were:
Based on your cognitive functions, your type is most likely:
Most Likely: INFJ
or Second Possibility: ENFJ
or Third Possibility: INTP

Your cognitive functions are, in order of development:
Ni - Fe - Ti - Te - Si - Ne - Se - Fi

Last time I took this test I scored equally as INTJ and INFJ.

Correct. I have two good friends who are psychologists (one forensic and one behavioral) and they both say this particular tool has significant flaws and is not used as often for professional uses because of reliability.

It is basically hit or miss and it may in fact give you a good indication or it may not.

Lol I am intro and extrovert, honestly. That IS what I've gotten before though. I've gotten ESFJ a few times. Maybe it's my mood when Im taking the test that changes the letters?

Then what kind of tools would your psychologist friends use? //curious.

I know you don't know me very well but what do you see me as?
If I were guessing I'd say you were an introvert. J's are most common on internet forums so I'd guess that...

But since I have everyone's results copy and pasted into a word document, I'd say you're one of the 7 INFJ females posting in Singles.

That's possible. It's also possible that you've changed over time.

Also, some people find that different tests give them different letters. One of the links in this thread gave me INFP. I'm ENFP.

I guess you could read up on the descriptions and see if you fit the ESFJ or ISFP description better.

That's not creepy at all. :sorry:

And yes. My results have been INFJ more times than not.

They say the base question for introvert vs. extrovert is where you get your energy.

An extreme introvert will find that people wear him out and will need to recharge in solitude. An extrovert can't live without people and will begin to get moody, depressed, and lethargic if they don't have people to talk to.

I find that I do need some solitude, but I would DIEEE without talking with friends. Extrovert. I think some tests picked up on the fact that I need some solitude more than others did.
