CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Actually, don't put your hand in the cage if you can help it. Or wear a glove. The hamster might not like the taste or texture of it, anyway.

I would say wear a glove with a nasty tasting, but not harmful something on it. If it's just recently starting it might be from not handling it often enough.

do u put food, and fresh water in da cage, when she's jus woken up?
in my experience, female hamsters r cranky lil punks, lol (kinda like female ppl )
i would stir her around in da cage...wake her up, let her potty, throw shavngs on her (gently) so she can clean herself up, while ur changin her food, etc.
the glove thing don't realy work..in my exerience. they bite neway, and its harder to get em off ya. also the gloves can be big n bulky...making ur daily hamster chores harder..
this thread makes me wanna get a hammie...i miss mine, been yrs since i had one...i used to have a boy hammie, named chubbles

I love hamsters as well. The only problem is that I had wire bird cage kind of cage, all of the shavings seem to come out. ICK And when I got the cute plastic cage they would always bite thru it and I would wake up in the morning, brush my teeth and have them run over my feet! LOL

Dont wash your hands with a strong soap before handling, but make sure not to smell like food, either.
Sometimes "scary" smells can be eliminated or covered by rubbing some of the bedding on your hands before you try to handle hamsters.
