CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not looking forward to Mother's Day. My oldest son has to work and it's always too crowded to go out to eat on Mother's Day which is what I want to do is share a meal with my boys. Plus I'm really missing my mom this year even though she's been gone 16 years already. So tomorrow will just be another day. Go to church (which is always awesome!) come home do laundry. Maybe make a cake for my boys and myself. We are planning to go out on Monday though hopefully to dinner and a movie. Hopefully

We took Mom out to dinner last night so as to avoid the crowds tomorrow. Thankful to still have my Mom, but missing my grandmothers this year even though they've been gone a long time.

Been a hard day for me today.. but still some lovely moments.. I hope despite your sadness about not having your mom with you... you have a lovely day.. a mom is a mon no matter how long they have been gone..

Mother's Day is hard for me, too. This is the second one without my sweet mama. (She passed away in December of 2009.)
It is also hard because I am not a mom...and time is running out. I always thought that at least if I didn't have a family of my own, I'd have my classroom of children. But, that hasn't even worked out.
I am thankful, though. God blessed me with the absolute best mom for me. She was a perfect match--so patient, compassionate, and loving. I am very fortunate, I know. She lived her life so well. I hope that I can do the same.
I am also thankful that despite the uncertainty in my life, I can trust God to work everything out. He really does have a good plan for me. He really does know what He is doing. There really is a reason for all of this. Lord, help me to be patient!

This morning I woke up and was kinda sad, cuz even though I know that we are planning to go out tomorrow for Mother's Day I would have hoped that at least my older son, would have gotten me a card. Whenever it is a Holiday like Valentine's Day or Easter they wake up to candy and cards, but I get....dishes left in the sink. Then I started thinking about God, and about how often (every minute) He must feel this way with us. We are mostly complaining and blaming Him for our troubles, and rarely thankful for all He does, and especially all He does that we cannot see, the behind the scenes so to speak. So today I choose to THANK GOD. Thank you Lord for ALL you have given me, and all you have not given me, and ALL you do for me that I don't acknowledge. You are my Father, my mother, my kinsman redeemer, it is YOU that I will put my faith and trust. Thank you for choosing me before I was in my mother's womb. Thank you for all you teach me every day, and THIS DAY may I just be THANKFUL to call you Savior. Thank you for your mercy and grace in my life and may I somehow fulfill the destiny that you put me on this Earth for. Amen.

I know as a teen I didn't have a clue. But this week I sent my mother a card. So when your 80, I predict you will get a card ... Darn, I had hoped to be encouraging. Oh, Ya, I've sent my mom a card for quite a few yrs now. So you wouldn't have to wait that long. grin

After I left for church my older son sent me a Happy Mother's day text and while in church my younger son made me a card out of paper from my notebook that I keep in my purse. Then my youngest and I went to Five Guys for lunch (my first time they have good burgers!) and now I'm home got my Mother's Day cake to myself in the oven lol and getting ready to do laundry.
