CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thanks so much! I was just telling someone that I really can't lose. Either this job is right for me, and God will give me what I need to get it...or...it is wrong for me, and He will provide something better later.
I'm actually going in a different direction. Been working with kids in the public schools since 1998. Got my teaching certificate in December of 2008, but haven't been able to find a job as a classroom teacher. Been subbing since 2000; but, I need something that is more consistent and provides benefits. I love helping others...teaching them and giving them the support they need to learn, grow, and become more independent. This job is working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities...so, it will be different for me working with adults instead of children, but I get to make a real difference in their lives, so I think it will be a good fit for me.
I'm kinda sad because it feels like I am giving up my dream of teaching elementary school children. But, who knows what the Lord has in store for me in the future. I'm just trying to do the best that I can now...so that I can help others and pay my bills!

Thanks for asking. It went really well. She pretty much said I have the job as long as I pass the background check (which won't be a problem). She already scheduled my training for next week.
I found out that they don't offer medical benefits, though, so I am a little bummed.

Yay for getting the job! Sorry about no benefits, but we just have to follow the road God leads us sometimes, so maybe it will change later and the company will offer benefits or this could lead to a different job in the future with benefits. But Hip Hip Horray for getting a job!!!

Been subbing since 2000 (so, no medical insurance through work). I paid for my own from 2000-2005. In that time, my rates tripled! (Didn't go to the doctor once, either.) It just got to be too expensive! I've been without since then.

I really like Myrtle Beach, it's not as crowded an is more laid back a town than some of the other eastern beaches. I always love going there.I'd like to visit Arizona sometime. The only place west of the Mississippi River I've been is Utah.

I'd like to visit Arizona sometime. The only place west of the Mississippi River I've been is Utah.
I am used to Huntington Beach and Newport Beach.
