CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Good news...
I'm gainfully employed again...
It's a 6 month contract but it's a job
I can't wait to have a schedule to keep again...this willy nilly "off" time is starting to make me a bit on the looney side...

Yay Gwenyfur! Congrats! Even if it is 6 months. That's six more months that you won't go crazy LOL!
Well I have some kinda good news too. My little old dog Turbo has been having a skin problem for awhile now, and I just couldn't stand it any longer so I took him to the vet yesterday. The bill.....well lets not talk about that, but in the long run he hasn't had any problems and only 1 other serious vet visit in the 10 years I've owned him so...Anyway....I found out today he has Hypothyroidism. So his body doesn't and can't make the thyroid hormone. So now for the rest of his life I have to give him medicine, but the meds are only 15 bucks a month and he's worth that so...but it will clear up his skin condition (along with the shampoo they gave me and the antibiotics they gave him) and his hair will get better looking and he will be a totally different dog (according to the vet). The vet said he is a poster dog for this type of disease and he was VERY excited that he can fix him! and when I say excited I mean passionate lol. So all in all I'm SO glad cuz I was worried he had mange of some other disease and was dying or something.

Always good to hear good news.
I found out this week that my cousin's husband drown. So I'm going to a funeral Sat. I didn't know him and only knew my cousin a little. but in the sorrow it will be good to see that side of the family again.

Wow Michelle...I wonder if that's what's wrong with my cat?!?!
One of my cats is always "barbering" or pulling out all of his fur on teh back half of his body...we've run the gambit of allergy, steroids, infection, antibiotic, dermatology tests, fungal tests, ... been fighting this for more than a few years...
I think I'll have to ask the vet if we've done thyroid tests....
I hope your puppy is feeling better *huggles*

Wow dayhiker how sad about the cousin. Drowning? wow! I can't imagine.
Gwenyfur, my dog could care less about his coat. Never scratches and it never seems to bother him, but he has been putting on weight (he doesn't eat or exercise much) and he's always sleeping and seems kinda mentally dull? I thought that was just cuz he was getting old, but anyway it couldn't hurt to have the hormones tested. His skin is SO flakey and he gets these patches that are mostly circular and it's like the skin just died there and you can peel off chunks. Kinda gross. Got him groomed today, but he still has major patches. Dr. said it will take a few months for that to go away and I have to shampoo him 2 times a week plus giving him the meds. But he's worth it and it seems like he already feels a little better.

Thanks for the concerns for my cousin.
There were a lot of people at the Funeral and some nice things said about him. He was a real people person. He was changing careers and was taking physical theropy classes. Much of the school he was attending showed up.
I saw several family members I'd not seen in a while and meet some younger cousins I'd not meet before.

I know it HAS been rather quiet. Maybe cuz Spring is in the air LOL? I don't really have any plans for the summer except my step daughter and family will be visiting from Oklahoma. Looking forward to that visit for sure! Since my finances are ridiculously out of whack I don't have money to do anything, really but looking forward to the kids being out and not having to hound them to get up in the morning. LOL
On another topic, I went on FaceBook this morning as I usually do and I go to one of my friends wall and I notice that Oh My Gosh! her brother which is my old boyfriend and first love is now on FB! WHY oh WHY I cannot get this guy out of my mind is beyond me, but anyway, I just had to tell someone! I asked him to "friend" me too.

Yeah our hearts are deceitfully wicked according to the Bible so I never understand when people tell other people to "follow your heart" I want to scream Nooooooooooooooooooooo! But LOL I just always want to figure things out. I also sent you a PM so you can request to be my friend on FB.

I've started my new job...
Spent my last days off cleaning up the mess winter always leaves in teh yard...moving the wood pile to the back fence for the summer, moving stones around and making rings around my garden, edged the shrubs I planted last year, and mulched the flower bed since I'm not planting anything in there this year...just in the pots...
Got the Ostara decorations out and it's all spring/easterish around here...except the cold damp weather...it's been COLD for more than a week now! Enough already LOL
Anyhow...pics of the progress in the yard:

btw...every single one of those stones came out of my garden...
yup...the tiller didn't like 'em much either! but I found something productive for them to do besides multiply in my garden LOL

Now those stone will have more space spread all around your lot to really multiply. LOL

I concur about seeing pics of the yard. I love seeing other people's places! That's alot of wood to move. Sorry to say we are starting to get the heat here. It's supposed to be 92 today! I wouldn't mind giving you guys 10 degrees or so, don't know how we could manage it, but wouldn't that be nice? LOL. Good luck with your new job Gwenyfur!

hi, if anyones around to read this in the next 24 hours and able to say a prayer would appreciate it. Am going to a womens retreat and inevitably will have stuff about being a wife and mother as they usually do, of which I am neither though (it is a sensitive area for me most days now) so just need grace to ride it out. Am looking forward to it though as there is time for prayer. Thank you for any prayers. I love that there is a place on this forum for older singles! It has brought me encoluragement today that am not alone
