well it worked out. When I just decided instead of going all the way back home just to get gas, when I got back on the FWY and close to my work there was a 4 car rollover and both the fast lane and the onramp were blocked. Had I not got off to get gas, I might have been in the accident or seen it, but thankfully the angels protected me that day. Also I found I had a chicken breast at work from a previous day so I cut it into tiny pieces and it took me about an hour to get 3 oz down, LOL but at least I didn't starve. I find that eating with braces takes all the fun out of eating LOL. I don't even want to eat anymore (except I still get hungry darn it ). Hopefully I will get used to it.

Wow sounds like you were spared that day..

Hopefully it will get easier to eat with braces as you get used to it..

soup is good LOL and applesause too. Good thing I'm on a diet anyway ha ha. Well I took our puppy to get fixed today so she doesn't go into heat and/or get pregnant. I'm so happy to get this done and the place I went to seems like a really nice place. Close to my work too.
On another note, I just found out that my oldest step daughter is pregnant.....again. This is not a good thing as she has had 4 or 5 abortions with no thought or care. The guy she is with is supposedly a christian (I don't know him, so that's why I say supposedly) I can only hope that he is against abortion as he has 3 daughters. She has 2 children she didn't abort as well. Please say prayers for her, I cannot understand if she has another abortion. I don't understand why God would let her continue to get pregnant. I know He is in control. Wow I just really hope she doesn't abort this one.

Well I just found out that my step daughter I guess IS going to keep the baby. Apparently she thinks this is some miracle they have been prayin for? She's known this guy for 2 months. Hard to say what's really the truth when it comes to her, but I know God is in control and His will, will prevail no matter what. I DO hope it changes her for the better this time.

well according to her sister this is her MO to trap guys. She has two children 13 and 9 and her new BF has three daughters and I think she only has the two children cuz she was trying to keep/trap her now ex husband. God has a plan and His thoughts are not my thoughts and His ways are not my ways, so we'll just have to see how this one is played out. I just don't understand why God allows her to keep getting pregnant especially if that's what she wants and not for the right reasons. She told her sis that they have been praying for a miracle and they think this is it. Well she's been pregnant, I think, six times now, so THAT really isn't a miracle and she hasn't known him very long. He doesn't know it, but he is in for the ride of his life unless her heart really does change.

Michelle, with the braces it's pretty good for the first month or so to go with softer foods with some texture but notta lot...
also, if you didn't get wax from the dentist, go pick some up...it helps sooth the scraping on the insides of your cheeks...

Slowly add firmer and more textured foods over the span of a few weeks...you'll find you like eating again...but in the beginning softer foods are good...
soups, bisques, I found preserved fruit instead of fresh was easier as well...soft casseroles...but nothing you have to chew much...your teeth are going to be too sensitive for that for a bit...
adn you may also revert to the softer foods for a few days after each tightening.


I wore 'em for 4 years in my younger years...I don't envy you the experience ... even if my smile has shifted somewhat over the years...I'm not doin' it again LOL

I'm surprised she can even get pregnant if she uses abortion as birth control (because of scaring). May God give you the wisdom and understanding to deal with this situation! Hug

Morning everyone, welcome back MLynn!
Yeah on the braces thing, well I am at this time on a diet where I cannot have starches or sugars, so that means mashed potatoes are out (just for another few weeks though) and I don't have any sores on my cheeks (yet) and I do have wax. I know it will be worth the final outcome and it should help me stay/get skinny too, right? . It's not so bad, but like I told the orthodontist, he won't have to worry about me brushing after I eat, cuz I just can't stand not too. And I eat alot of unsweetened applesause since I can't eat apples yet. It's all good, though and thanks for everyone's caring advice.

As for my stepdaughter, well her sister couldn't stand it anymore so she texted her "are you going to get married?" and then said she was sorry she couldn't be happy but she wished for better for her not more hardship, to which the reply was that only God can judge her and she didn't consider her sister's comments to be unconditional love. So her sister replied that IF it is a blessing from God she will be blessed but IF it's NOT then woe, woe, woe, to you and then her reply came back "well can we still talk about how we are and stuff, cuz I want that more than anything!" So her sister told me that she must know she's right otherwise she would have argued, but at least she hasn't totally cut off contact (cuz my other step daughter is the only family she talks to). I'm happy she is at least not gonna abort this time, but I'm sure her guy is probably doing a WTH? right about now IF he even knows. But I am going to keep praying for her and hope for the best and I know that God is still in control no matter what happens so....

Happy Friday everyone!

I just got some really bad news yesterday regarding one of the women in my Bible study. Apparently after the Super Bowl on Sunday her daughter was taking her mother in law home and they were stopped at a light. Some drunk driver did not stop and rammed them from behind but not straight behind. Anyway it was more on the passenger side and the mother in law was killed instantly. Her daughter that was driving was trying to give her CPR but she was already dead. The daughter is banged up, but OK. It's just such a sad thing and a realization that we never know how much time we have left here on this Earth. My prayers go out to that family! .
Yes MLynn we all have our crosses to bear so to speak, I know. Sometimes all we can do is pray, but we also sometimes don't realize HOW much prayer actually helps.

Sooooo....dayhiker...how's the crown molding coming. You know we want more pictures when it's all complete right? Not being demanding or anything but that's what WE want, got it? LOL

Well last night was.....interesting. I was going skating with my younger son, older son was at his girlfriends. We've been having issues with our door lock for some time now and I was trying to wait until I got my tax return. So I had trouble again and finally got it to work so I lock the door and leave. Then I think, "hey, I'm going to be home pretty late and what if Xak can't get the door open?" So I go back home and was planning on leaving the sliding door in the back unlocked. BUT I COULDN'T GET IN! So I tried the windows, nope all locked up tight. And it wasn't the dead bolt that was broken, but my purse was in the house cuz I didn't want to take it to the skating rink so I only took my phone and my drivers license and whatever cash I had on me. So I couldn't get in. Called my older son, who tells me "I'm watching a movie, can you text me?" To which I said NO! I am locked out and need you to find a locksmith and give me the number. He did, and they got there about 45 minutes later. Took him about 1 minute to pop the door open for a small fee of 125.00!!! Oh well you are kind of at their mercy. So today I went and purchased new locks. The gal at the hardware store assured me I could easily install them. She gave me confidence to try, and I DID IT! That's the good news. Bad news is it only took me 4 hours! Oh well live and learn right? Had to share this with someone.

I'm guessing you never did this before, and as happens so often to so many of us do-it-yourselfers you probably didn't have the right tools which meant you either had to buy/borrow one or improvise something. Next time it won't take 4 hours because you've been through this. Congratulations, MbM, you passed the "Emergency Do It Yourself" test.

Well I did have my handy electric screw driver and that's really all I needed cuz I was just replacing my old lock. Can't even imagine tackling putting in a new one. Thanks for the encouragement. I did have to go back to Home Depot once because the latch was set to be installed opposite of how I needed it and of course it was an easy fix (push or pull and turn it around) but of course, I didn't know that either and then I installed it backwards with the blunt part hitting the door so it wouldn't close without turning the handle, but it's done now and I didn't have to pay anyone (except the 125 emergency fee to get me in the night before) so ya it's all good. Sure did wear me out though, and the directions aren't very clear. I only wanted to cry once LOL. My son was pretty proud of me and that makes it all worth it.
