Ya, this winter is turning out to be one storm after another. At least the last one had some rain to melt some of the snow that had piled up. My driveway is clear of ice. More snow tonight. 5 or 6 more inches they say. ahhh to be a kid again and go dig some tunnels in the snow. I just don't see kids doing that today like I used to do.

That's because they've got better things to do (not really just more things lol) like be on the computer or playing video games and they don't have to be cold lol.

Gwenyfur sounds really chilly where ever you are! I wish I could enjoy your waffles and cocoa with you.

Peacechild, I do hope your heart will heal soon. :hug:Glad you check in every once in awhile anyway. We do care about you here.

Driveway is shoveled out and the car is cleared off...
while I was shoveling it was still lightly snowing, but I did take time to snap a few pics of my feathered visitors before heading out to slave away in the driveway...

anyhow I thought I'd share :)

It started out as a single bird feeder to keep the kitties entertained since they aren't allowed outside...

It's become a bit of turning my backyard into a birdie haven....up to 3 feeders and a couple of suet feeders as well...

Ironically when the feeders are low, the phrasing for refilling them is: "I'm recharging the kitty TV"

Hey all,
I don't usually get on here on the weekends, but I just wanted to share that tomorrow would have been my husbands 61st birthday and Sunday it will be 6 years that he passed. I feel OK right now, but if you wouldn't mind saying a prayer for me I would appreciate it. I can hardly believe it's been 6 years!
I've been working on changing my life this year. Spending more time reading and studying the Word and praying, losing weight and I'm even gonna get braces YIKES! and also continuing to pay off the massive debt I've incurred on my credit cards, slowly but surely, but I'm on it. no more spending. If I wasn't so scared to change services and not have a land line I would also dump my cable TV and phone but I'm not sold on everything going thru my computer at the moment so....Anyway...thanks all.

I also send love to you Michelle.

Hey, you'll look like a teenager with braces. So have some fun acting like a teenager ... hang out at the local sock hop for a night. lol

Dayhiker I have to give it to you.....you always make me smile (giggle).

Thanks everyone for your kind words and prayers. Today I was a little sad this morning. Partly because my teenager and me had an issue last night and were not on the best of terms but....I got up...and I have been busy busy busy cleaning cleaning cleaning. I cleaned out all the drawers in both nightstands, cleaned out the computer desk drawer and loaded up my 2010 files, cleaned out the kitchen junk drawer and cabinet, did the laundry, semi-cleaned the kitchen. My nephew came over and installed more RAM on my computer and backed up my important files on my new external hard drive. Bummer is I found out my hard drive that I have is only 60gb and THAT is my problem about my computer being so slow, so now I have to get a new hard drive but he will come over and install it so I'm happy that we got accomplished what we could do today, and NOW I'm pooped but I thought I would pop in and give my update. So I really didn't give myself too much time to have a poor me party which I'm glad. But now I need a shower and I think I might make it an early night. Love you guys.

Michelle, I hope you are having a peaceful, beautiful Sunday! I pray that as time goes by it will be easier to deal with your dear Hubby's passing on to Glory. My Dave will have been gone 3 years this February 26th. I plan on being very busy and distracted that day.

Well other than getting a bunch of stuff done around the house that needed to get done my weekend was a complete disaster and I broke into tears this morning. Not just tears but wailing actually. My son and I are still at odds. He hasn't been talking to me and yesterday he just left and when he came home I told him I have a right and an obligation to know when he is leaving and when he is coming back and also where he is. Then I told him that this silent treatment was getting old, and he started yelling at me again, telling me I'm never happy and I told him that wasn't true and he said "look at you right now! you're not happy now!" Well duh...but I'm not always this way and if he would do his simple chores without my nagging I would be exstatic. So I told him, he is confirming to me that he does not love me to which he said nothing. So then I said why don't I just take your car keys until you can be respectful to which he said OK like it was nothing. This morning he got up early (amazingly without my nagging) and left for school an hour early cuz he didn't want to be there anymore. He also unfriended me on FaceBook or he deleted his whole profile I'm not sure I can't find him at all. I don't know where it will go from here and I wish his dad was here because he would NEVER act like this around his dad or his dad would whip his butt. Just made me miss him all the more. My family is broken and I'm not sure what to do now. I wish I at least had some man, some family member that would step up to the plate and straighten him out. And then I come here to this forum and I am in trouble Really? I've been here since my husband died and NEVER been in trouble. Well it can only get better from here, right?

With your son being several years older, I'm not sure sure that he would treat your huband now the same what he did back then. By the time my son was 15 I really didn't ask much of him any more. I know from the 8th grade on I didn't tell my parents where I was or when I would be home etc. Of course I wanted food so I was usually home for dinner. Ya, you can say you have a right, but he is looking for independance, so I think you got to let him go at it alone.
