got to love freedom ... I remember reading what Jesus said about freedom when I was in Jr. High ... that was part of what got me excited about serving God. Its interesting how so many years of listening to preachers I heard very little about freedom from them. Now I'm going back to that freedom. Lot let guilt when I think about the freedom Jesus gives and while there was more guilt when I listened to preachers.

It is sad that more preachers don't preach the freedom JESUS brings.. but I think the greatest message in the world is people living free because of JESUS in their lives..

Preachers speak to a congregation of people who voluntarily entered their church, not a captive audience. My advice to anyone that does not like the church they go to or the messages delivered there is that they find another church they are comfortable in. Even in the best of churches however, one is going to hear sermons that bring discomfort.

Discomfort can come from a bad sermon. It can also come because the sermon makes something resonate within us, something that makes us uncomfortable, maybe something we're doing that we need to change. I thank God for the vast majority of preachers (pastors) because they are ministering and being in God's service to others. We should pray for them as we do our brothers and sisters.

With my hearing being what it is.. I love that now we can download sermons to listen to on our ipods.. the ones I listen too also have captions which is absolutely awesome.. there is no excuse for not getting the word these days..

I love listening to Joseph Prince.. ohh his teachings of JESUS has so opened the bible like never before.. also Joyce Meyer.. I have one of her teaching.. simply called believing GOD.. and I have heard it over and over and no matter how many times it still feeds me and blesses me..

I'm not all that negative on the church and preachers, as I think they all for he most part help so many people.
Clearly if people don't like a church they can leave. I have done that a couple of times in my life when I felt the pastor wasn't going to be a benefit to me and my family.
But at the same time I know those people are part of the family of God and so part of my family. So I always enjoy fellowship with them.

Well I had an interesting weekend. I was all set to put up my Christmas decorations and was "happy" to do it. My younger son help me put the lights on the house outside and I did the rest of the yard. He started complaining even though I asked him not to. So we get the lights up (that we checked beforehand to make sure they worked) and in the evening when they came on....there were 4 strands that each have a little section on the end that doesn't work (remember we did check them). I don't know why that is, but oh well.
So in the morning my older son was talking to my younger son about his bike and what to do with it and my younger son did not agree, so my older son proceeded to tell him "No offense, but you're an IDIOT". Well I don't tolerate that kind of talk or name calling, so I told him not to say that and that he didn't need to attack his character just because he didn't agree with him.....So he leaves to go to work mad.....comes home....I'm decorating the tree...doesn't talk to me....goes to his room.....doesn't talk to me this morning......I ask him what's wrong he says NOTHING and leaves....HE was in the wrong but I'M the one being punished it seems. So I put up my decorations, in tears and I don't think the kids really care. Worst Christmas ever.

Well my oldest step daughter recently posted on Facebook that she has a "new" soul mate lol. I guess her other "soul mate" didn't work out. I think this is number 3?? She recently posted that she asked the Lord back into her life and is now crediting doing that with getting together with her new soul mate. I also am feeling a little lonely this Christmas and am hyper sensitive about not having a mate and then I read that one minute she says "Lord come back into my life" (she just found out she has cancer, but her type of cancer is supposedly 99.99 percent curable according to the internet) and the next minute she has a soul mate? And here I sit for the last 6 years being a good Christian, raising my kids, going to church, praying etc....and then here I sit......mind boggling I tell ya, just mind boggling!!!

Tho if I were you I'd not not look at the situation as you being punished but that he isn't willing to let go of the emotions yet. Not that that changes much.

Last night he came home and told me he was sorry for being a jerk, but then later he said he wasn't sorry about anything he said to his brother to which I started to cry while responding that it really hurts my spirit to hear names called to anyone especially my son and he said OK mom I'm sorry gosh don't get so offended. I told him that adults usually talk things out instead of just not talking, to which he responded, "I'm not an adult" to which I responded, "well mature people work things out" so yeah, things are better. I guess he still loves me, cuz he came home with a christmas present for me.
What I meant by being punished is because he wasn't talking to me even though HE was in the wrong so I felt like HE was punishing me so to speak. But yeah that's how he deals with things sometimes.

Hi.. hee hee.. thanks so much for asking.. great timing huh.. I have been away with two children to the beach since Monday.. so almost a whole week.. at a maccas on the way home.. I know bad.. but I miss the daily contact... (((Hugs)) big hugs to you each one.. what a blessing to read you ask where I was.. my I will try to hold back the tears.. but smiling big here..

Will be a struggle till next pay day because we overspent a little but the holiday and getting away was so worth it..

Michelle, God Bless You for sharing!!!!!! I appreciate you. I also appreciate that my prayers are needed. Sometimes, I feel so useless. I have strained relationships with all my kids. So today I go on the website to check my childs grades because this is the last week of the semester. I just checked his grades on Friday and he had an 87 in Social Studies. The week prior he had a 90+. So today I check and he now has a 77!!!!!! WTH????? Apparently the teacher took his sweet time (over a month) to input that my child is MISSING an assignment and this week is the LAST WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS BREAK so there is NO chance for him to make anything up or do extra credit. I am SOOOO mad!!!! Mad at my child, mad at the teacher!!!Grrrrr How can I help make sure my child is up to speed if the stupid teacher can't input the grades in a timely manner???
