I also say full speed ahead! Life is too short and before we know it we will be standing before God while He asks us "what did you do to glorify me with your life?" I know I haven't done very much, but since I still have time I am asking God "What do you want me to do Lord?"
My BIL was just here for Thanksgiving and WHAT a change in his life there has been! He is going to church 3-4 times a week and playing worship for the men's fellowship. He gets up every morning and reads the Bible and prays and writes in his journal. He doesn't drink anymore and is going to work on quitting smoking soon. He is just such a different person from that last time I saw him in Sept. I am truly PRAISING GOD for his transformation. It's SO cool to see prayers answered and lives changed. I was trying to inspire him in previous months and now HE is inspiring ME! Isn't that so cool?

Wow, what a praise report! It's great news indeed! Oh, and I turn 59 next month and I don't know what to think about it; I almost feel the same as 20 yrs ago, although my stamina isn't what it used to be and I really need to get 8 solid hours of sleep nowadays...

Well in regards to my son, I guess he plans on sticking around awhile cuz he just bought a new cell phone. I also came across a poem that his girlfriend wrote him (he told me not to read it and then just left it out so of course later I read it) and in the poem she says that he thinks they should end it...not sure if she is talking about life or their relationship but everything seems to be hunky dory today. Whew! So I guess my letter got thru a little. I hope.

It sounds like you got through to him. Things sound better. I pray they continue to improve.

Thanks everyone. I knew inside that the only right answer was full speed ahead. But there's this little voice, which is sometimes not so little that says things like, you're getting old, etc. Well I'm dropping this "I'm getting old thinking." It's a hard thing to do as there is a lot of reinforcement for it.

Tomorrow's my wife's birthday. I was talking with a friend about what to get her and she said, what's your song? I said, Wild Horses by the Stones. She said, go out and buy Sticky Fingers then. I did. Can't wait to listen to it with her. Might even slow dance. (I did get her a few other things too. She's going to love the new vacuum cleaner LOL - just kidding). God bless y'all.

If you two enjoy dancing, ballroom dance lessons are fun and VERY romantic. Check to see if there's a studio nearby that offers a special for beginners. (Still don't know when your birthday is. December begins tomorrow, ya know.)

She's been trying to get me to do that for ages. I was raised in Europe and actually took lessons when I was 10 but I've forgotten everything except the waltz and cha cha. I'll mention that to her today. Thanks.

Ha ha ha, well he's not really a "chat-er" lol. He's a computer programmer/Web designer/whatever with computers so he doesn't do anything else on computers except make or play games and only sometimes. He doesn't do Facebook and it's hard to get him to respond to emails, even though he DOES read them lol. Sorry...he won't be joining us.

Oh Boy, last month of the year already. Time to write my Christmas letter.

I visited Australia earlier in the year. It was 7 hrs to the west coast from NC then 14 hrs to Melbourne. Talk about jet lag... The time difference depending on what time of year it is and who's on dayight savings time is 12-14 hrs later than where I live.

I met a lot of nice people there and could envision living there and did earlier in my life. It was like a combination of many places I've been in Europe and the US but had this beautiful wildness about it too.

It was.. it is funny the time differences.. It is nice though there is always someone around on CF... from somewhere...

Christmas this year will be my quietest yet.. not much money.. but the children and I head to the beach on Monday next week.. actually I was hoping the four kids would come.. but older ones actually want to stay home with their father and work??? He is less strict so I can only imagine they get away with stuff while I am away..

Weather here is humid and hot but raining right now.. storm just before..

I am so contemplating starting the new year to come with a divorce.. LOL.. I know sounds horrible but it may just be the freedom I need..

got to love freedom ... I remember reading what Jesus said about freedom when I was in Jr. High ... that was part of what got me excited about serving God. Its interesting how so many years of listening to preachers I heard very little about freedom from them. Now I'm going back to that freedom. Lot let guilt when I think about the freedom Jesus gives and while there was more guilt when I listened to preachers.

Peacechild, just put God first in your life ( I know you are) and you can't go wrong. In 1 Corinthians chaper 7, Paul writes to them about marriage. I'm sure you've read it, but in verse 15 it says " Yet if the unbelieving one leaves let him leave; the brother or sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us to peace." This is Paul talking, not God, but it is in the Bible and right now it seems your ex has no interest in knowing your God, right? We all know it's not God's best for us to be in these types of relationships in the first place because of the problems it creates and the guilt we have when "we" can't make it work. Thank GOD that he is full of mercy and grace toward us, and if we let HIM guide us, even thru divorce we can be free to worship Him and glorify Him and receive His forgiveness as well. Everyone of us gets put in situations where WE don't have control. That is how our faith is tested and grows is in these situations. So I encourage you sister, to pray, pray, and pray some more until you get the peace that passes all understanding that only comes from the Lord, and then no matter what you and the Lord decide, or what your circumstance becomes, you will be at peace in your life and with God.
