CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So I go on a meetup, we walk about 3 miles in Prospect Hill Park. Then 5 of us go out to dinner. None of us had meet before. What a great time! One lady is polish, makes crowns, veneers for teeth etc. Amazing story about how she has figured out her health issues in the last few years.
One of the others guys is from India. The movie Slumdog Millionaire, He lived the same thing. Grew up in an Indian slum. At age 12 started work in the local retail fish market. Think mafia run business. At 14 sees a guy hacked to death by 10 guys with their fish knives and some hows finds himself in America at 19. Tho the owner who had taken a liking to him and was starting to prepare him to run the place. Owner had two daughters! He would have had to kill a man before getting that position. Loves being in America!
Lady, works at MIT with their endowment program. Told how she got to work with a guy who had been connect to MIT for 50 yrs and she found a way that was very meaningful for him to help finance a change how three independent institutions study a cancer that has had very little success in 30 yrs of research.
I got to share a little and the other guy I didn't get his story.

Hi. I was not aware there was a singles forum for mature adults. I'm glad I found it. I have an ad on Big Beautiful People to try to meet my mate. I tried other dating sights and this one seems better. I just told a man I was interested in him and am waiting for a reply from him. I hope he is interested too because he is a real quality man from what I read.

So last weekend I spent quite a bit of time with my boys. The oldest was back from Afghanistan and it was his birthday. The party was at my EXs. A rainy day. But was still good to hang out with my sons. Also meant my youngest son's new GF. She seems really nice.
Then Sunday, my oldest and I played golf. Weather was good and the course was good. Good time. Now he returns for 4 more months.

Ya, Ruth, the older thing isn't much fun. I've had a swollen ligament under my knee cap for a few weeks. Only bothers me once in awhile, but I keep worrying that it will get worse. Since I love walking, I'd hate to not be able to walk easily. Guess we all can relate at our age.

I'm too old to drive 1000 miles in one day. And why the heck does it only cost $3.08 for real unleaded gas (no ethanol crap) in western Arkansas while the other states costs at least a quarter more?

I own a home in Texas but I live 1400 miles away now.
Time to get the house ready to sell before school starts in the fall. But we will still make the trek periodically to visit family. I used to drive straight through from Texas to Virginia Beach when my hubby was stationed there...I'm too old to do that anymore.

I haven't noticed my knee for a week now. But then I've not done anything that would cause it to be a pain. Like Run, and have been so busy at work, that I've not even walked at lunch time.
