I'm just saying it's not just about sex drive.

If you are purposefully arousing yourself, independent of a physical need, instead of doing something productive and in neglect of your mental health, you're committing a whole lot of other sins than just lust.

I use to be very strong in saying yes it is, but not anymore. Its your imagination that would become the sinful aspect. If you can do it without lusting in your mind, then I do not believe their is a sin their. Its going to help keep you from fornicating, if your single.

I contend that say... Masturbating while thinking about your spouse, would not be a sin.

Some people are separated from their spouses for prolonged periods of time. Like my being in Afghanistan for the moment.

This establishes that Masturbation in and of itself is not sin. It's how you use it.

A married christian told me that when you're single masturbating is a sin but when you're married it's allowed when you think about your wife. This made me angry. It's like married people can have it all and single people have not even a replacement, great.
Btw, it is possible to do it and not think about anything sinful even though trying too hard not to think about anything sinful could also have the opposite effect.

But I ask myself if masturbation should be allowed if you don't think about anything sinful then does this mean that one could also use masturbation devices or would this then again become sinful? For example if a christian woman uses vibrators and doesn't think about sinful things but instead reads a newspaper then would this be allowed? In countries like Japan they have a different attitude to masturbation at least it seems so. They have really crazy "machines". I have seen some of those ads on the internet and they are really taking this seriously.

Masturbating within marriage has additional pitfalls, especially when used as a substitute for actual sex with your spouse. Being away on a trip is one thing; masturbating alone when your wife is across the house and able is unhealthy.

How about when your wife is across the room, able, but rarely wants to have sex with you?

I surely think that masturbating in that instance isn't unhealthy in the least.

My wife has MS, so it's rare that I get to have sex.

Paul may have had a low sex drive, so it was never a struggle for him. He also may have been so busy with the affairs of his ministry, he simply didn't have surplus energy.

Ever wonder what the "thorn" in Paul's side was?

some have alleged visiting prostitutes, some say Paul was married (requirement of Pharisee)-I say what's your motive?

Wow, I really wonder where they got such ideas. Totally unfounded speculations.
The thorn in Paul's flesh was no prostitutes and also no sickness it was a MESSENGER OF SATAN just like the bible says. This messenger stirred up the crowd everywhere Paul went and caused trouble. Thorn is used in the bible in other places with exactly the same meaning! I really don't get why christians keep repeating the same false stuff over and over and over. It was not a disease. But let's get back to the topic now.

it provides a release for me since my husband is not able to do it.

Not to turn this into a personal thread, but what do you mean your husband is "not able to do it?" If he is capable of any kind of sex (including oral and manual) he should be doing it for you. If he simply does not know how, he should learn.

What if he does not want to perform OS, I notice that some people think that women should not have to perform OS if they dont want to but men should. Also if you ask him to do something make sure you are fully willing to recipicate 100%.

Being married to her is not healthy either. MB should only be used long enough to get rid of her and get a new wife.

You should definitly not be orientating your actions around getting rid of your wife.
