With your original question, it seems that regardless of masochism or not, the question is the sin and repenting.
Masochism is a state of mind, not necessarily sexual, although it can be. It is not an environment. In my experience, it is based on some sort of pain- whether it be self inflicted, physical pain inflicted by someone else, sexual (self or relationship), etc. It gives the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] some degree of pleasure/relief because of how they process it. But if it is environmental - then it is not personal and therefore i wouldn't think most masochists would process it the way they do pain.
