It is surprising that many don't look at the words of the prayers like the "Hail Mary". Basically, we are asking her to pray for us. Just as many as others to pray for them - we ask Mary to pray for us. What better person than one without sin who is Jesus' mother?! I prefer asking Mary to pray for me than another who is not free from sin.

That is all it is about.

When I pray the rosary, I also pray directly to God and I remember the life of Jesus in the stations of the cross that are also said on that rosary. It focuses my mind on His life and death for not only me, but for all of us.
Mary was not sinless.

I understand that the protestants do not look at Mary in the same way as Catholics. But maybe you should look at the words of the Hail Mary since you don't seem to want to do it - I will show you them and you will see we are only asking her to pray for us. I will highlight the part that you, and others are refusing to see.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Then why don't you tell us what sin she committed?
No one need go that far. She was mortal and Genesis tells us when Adam and Eve sinned and received the curses that then Adam named the woman Eve for she would become the mother of all the living...thus passing all the curses to all the living...one of the curses is sin of course.
To refuse to say Mary is one of these sinful, sin-natured, living beings is to place her on the same level as Christ thus adding to the Gospel and not adhering to the Gospel.
I see it was mentioned that she was the mother of our Lord...none-the-less, God made Mary and is reliant on no man or woman to carry out His will and His plans.

Hail Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.
This should be reported.

Mary also referred to Him when pregnant as 'my saviour'. If she was sinless she wouldn't have needed a saviour

I will say that I have never heard of this prayer, but after Vatican II - many blasphemies have been in the church - the one that I always speak out about is #841 in the Vatican II catechism.

This looks to be another one. No, I am still not a protestant because I do not believe in 'justification' nor want to even follow a creep like Martin Luther.

It was found on google on list of common Catholic prayers. This was my source Common Catholic Prayers

You failed to have read through the debate portion of this thread addressing the wrongness of needing intercessors...Christ is our only intercessor and advocate and He earned that title with His death and resurrection...He alone was sufficient and Hebrews tells us it is because of His work that we may now go boldly to the throne of grace in prayer.

We are not all Catholic and those of us that are not are making it perfectly clear...thus this is only provocation.
I was trying to calm things down previously. Wasn't trying to provoke, just point out it wasn't the only prayer to Mary. I'm all for friendly debate to understand. You are quite correct on further thought.

You seem to believe that innocent enough, but you are saying by your actions that Christ's work was insufficient, that He is not merciful and that the veil wasn't torn in two. It is all wrong. Read, read, read the Bible and follow its light alone.

Perhaps I was too hasty to judge the post...no problem.

You were right. It would just given more things to argue over. Thank you for that, I can remember that lesson for future posts.
