CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

People are fallible. They make mistakes. I'm fairly new to these boards. But I hope this thread doesn't turn judgmental on those that have been married more than once.

Like I said, I'm on my second marriage. I get my fair share of "boo" and "tsk tsk" from the militant-types and what not, but oh well -- it's not their life, and it's not their relationship with God.. it's mine, and it's mine.
I think most people understand that, too.Fact is, most people around here are fairly courteous about the subject and don't go around bashing randomly. We don't get too many militants under normal circumstances ... it's mostly just when people come looking for advice about a failing marriage that people get antsy and end up fighting about it.
But, you do have to prepare yourself for it. You will encounter it on the forums, I'm sorry to say. Such is the way the world is

1st marriage...though, like Beth Moore said...we have been married to five different people (versions of ourselves) HA! That cracked me up! Isn't it the truth. Almost 20 years means each of us going through LOTS of changes!
