  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I voted "no." For me, it is not the mission I object to, it is the tactics employed. I don't want to live in a "papers please" society where people are profiled for the color of their skin by militarized masked men deployed against political enemy states, not those politically aligned states with higher concentrations of undocumented immigrants. I think it is an evil game.

What's not mentioned is that the "politically aligned states" have been cooperating with Federal authorities and enforcing the law. Such as a case I know where an illegal was deported after found with an outstanding warrant for removal. Checking for outstanding warrants is standard for everyone and that one came up after a traffic violation.

Now compare it in Minnesota, with nearly two dozen counties declared as "sanctuaries" or had non-cooperation policies with Federal agencies. I don't know how that squares with Minnesota cities that had declared themselves sanctuary cities - sometimes counties and municipalities merge, so citing both would artificially inflate the number of sanctuary / non-cooperation zones. The point is that there was already non-cooperation going on in Minnesota. And when ICE went in to "Gasp!" enforce the law, it's met with hostility.

Not quite the way the "news" reports it. No surprise there; none at all.
