I am wondering if any of you might be able to recommend a short, easy to read, marriage devotional type of book from an Orthodox perspective.

My wife interrupted my reading today and said that she would like us to read one together. It has been my experience with "Devotional" type books that they tend toward platitudes and pop-Christian type things. She comes from an evangelical Pentecostal background.

Now my wife is one of the smartest people I know. I've seen her make impressive life and death decisions on the fly and she can run circles around some doctors I know as a nurse. But she is a terrible reader due to dyslexia. I've seen her wrestle for hours over the years on countless topics because of it. I'd like something that will benefit us both but not discourage her from going deeper down the road.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

what about Drs David and Mary Ford’s Marriage As A Path To Holiness? it’s basically a synaxarion of marriage saints.
Yeah, Dr D. Ford seems pretty solid to me.

Rabbi Friedman was a marriage counselor for 40 years. This is one of the best books I have read on the subject of intimacy vs the world's way of porn.

an Orthodox Christian perspective.
Marriage for the Conservative Hasidic is different. For example, their women do not date and play with men other than their husbands. I remember a scene in the movie "A Stranger Among Us" Where the Rabbi's son tried to explain this to Melanie Griffith.

Orthodox Christians are a lot more world. But be that as it may, I would recommend Stormie Omartian. I do not know of anyone else that follows the Bible as much as she does. Her books are very affordable. I went through a Christian bookstore once and that was the only Christian author I could find.

the OP asked for the Orthodox perspective, not the rabbinic perspective.

Oh, sorry, I must have gotten on this forum by mistake. I did thought it was a open forum.
