from Rev 13 we know --

1.The mark of the beast does not exist yet - but it will in the future.
2. It is given when one complies with a specific act of worship according to Rev 13.

3. There will be a solid reference for it such that when you try to buy groceries they will know you are not allowed to buy. Or it could be that your bank account is frozen if you don't have it - but that would mean that the bank knows if you have it or not. So then it still has some outward tangible way to know if someone has it or not.

4. Rev 13 describes it as being given out to those who agree to a sin that breaks one of the Ten commandments. Specifically related to worship

5. Rev 13 says that this event is coerced/empowered by great signs and wonders

6. In Matt 24 Christ also predicts a future event associated with great signs and wonders that would deceive the world

Ugh. This is obviously an exclusively Seventh Day Adventist teaching. Where do you get the idea that the mark of the beast does not exist yet?

It indicates that all who worship the beast are those whose names are not written in the book of life (Rev 13:8) and those who worship the beast are the ones who have the mark of the beast. Has no one lived yet whose name is not written in the book of life? Of course they have. The mark of the beast is something that all whose names are not written in the book of life have. It's not just a future thing. It is in direct contrast to the seal of God. All whose names are NOT written in the book of life have the mark of the beast and all whose names ARE written in the book of life have the seal of God (representing the Holy Spirit). I highly doubt you would say that the seal of God also does not exist yet?

Think about this. Do you understand that this is a matter of salvation? If someone has the mark of the beast then they are not saved, right? Because it would mean your name is not written in the book of life. Where does scripture say that keeping the sabbath, which was made specifically for the Jews in Old Testament times, is, or would ever be, required for salvation? Nowhere.

Salvation is not by works like keeping the sabbath or else you could boast of saving yourself. It is instead by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-10). So, it is not even possible that your understanding of the mark of the beast could be correct. Whatever the mark of the beast is, it's something that indicates that someone's name is not written in the book of life. What would that be? It has to reflect someone's unwillingness to repent and put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. That is what is required to have your name written in the book of life, not works like keeping the sabbath.

We are new covenant Christians, not old covenant Jews. Saved by grace through faith and not by our own works (Ephesians 2:8-10). Your SDA doctrine has caused you to lose sight of that.
