Mark of the Beast

Got to remember everybody is marked at the end of time. You either get the Seal of God or the Mark of the Beast.

Find out what the Seal of God is and who cares what the Mark of the Beast is, amen?

This is a worship issue, those who receive the Mark are worshipping the beast and those who worship God receive the Seal.

What is a Seal, Sign or Mark?

A seal is a document that gives the name, title and domination. For example the seal of the president of the USA has the following:

George W. Bush - his name
President - his title
USA - his domination

Likewise God has a seal, you can find it in Exodus 20:11 "For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."

LORD - his name
Made - he is Creator, his title
Heaven, earth and the sea - his domination

And in Revelation chapter 14 the first angel's message tells us to worship him who made heavens and earth and the fountains of waters. A direct quote from the fourth commandment.

So those who keep the 7th day sabbath are sealed and those who get the mark are breaking the 7th day sabbath.

Nobody at present has the Mark of the Beast.

You are right that the hand and forehead represents our actions and beliefs.

Only the angels can see who has which mark. Read Ezekiel chapter 9.

Jim, knowledge is progressive. If I told my daughter everything I know about statistics it would make no sense to her. I have to speak to her in terms of what she already understands. At best Revelation represents a worst case scenario. We tend to see it as a prophecy. This is why we are so impotent, unlike the people in Nineveh who recognized that they had the power to change the future.

I can respect that John and other authors of the Bible had a much different culture than we do now. I can respect and accept that they surely didn't have the technology or knowledge base that our world does now. However, I cannot accept that those differences between us and them substantially changes the relevance of their writings to us now. You almost make it sound as if those who wrote the Bible were inferior in intelligence. Remember it was the Holy Spirit who inspired the writings. The book of Revelations is highly symbolic and takes a lot of deep study to figure out what it all means. Much of it is unlocked by OT writings like in Daniel and other OT books. I see nothing there that leads me to think that John was like a small child not knowing how to express himself for us today or somehow was deminuative in the knowledge needed to deliver God's message. Much of what he wrote is what he saw while in vision.

John saw a city with gates because he lived in a world where security was represented by a city with gates. But why would we need a city, let alone gates, in a world where there is nothing to fear and nothing to keep out? What I believe is simple. There is one Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is the only eternal and infallible being in the universe. Everything else is subject to review. He is the only authority.

If you read the story sir you see why the gates are necessary. Rev 20:8-10

And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.


There will be an attempt to overtake the city at the end of all of this. Also until sin is taken care of God says nothing that would defile it could enter in. The lost sinners outside of the gates would defile it if they were allowed to go in.

I believe there is a God-head composed of the Father, the Son , and the Holy Spirit. I believe He is the all existent one as well. When you say everything else is open to review that is fine. There's nothing wrong with reviewing God's word. When we question it's authenticity/validity/relevance from page one to the end that is another matter.

Forgive me for interrupting, (not even sure if I'm allowed to post in this thread) but I'd always thought the mark of the beast was supposed to be written on our hands or foreheads, thus signifying what we do and think.

It is my personal opinion that we have all received the mark of the beast and that it is being burned out of us even as we grow.

It'll be a time that MOB will be a polarizing matter that everyone will by their clear conscience choose who they'll serve thus receiving the MOB.

The mark/sign is oth in hebrew meaning the standard, flag of a group carries. The sabbath is a standard, sign God's people carry according to Ezekiel 20 and Exodus 31.

As it's already been said above, it's not about which day to keep holy, it's about who has your alligence, who do you choose to obey.

Jim, lack of knowledge does not mean a lack of intelligence. John wrote according to what he understood. If he had seen airplanes in vision he would not have known what to call them because he had only seen birds and locusts in the air. You believe that the Holy Spirit only inspired the Bible. I believe that He inspires ALL knowledge. Therein lies the difference between us. The source is not the issue.

It's a matter of worshipping the things of this world or the One true God. It will be a conscience decision, not some secret chip implanted in our bodies or something like that.

We merely have to worry about the seal, not the mark.

I am not certain what the Mark of the Beast is.. and I don't think it is important. If it becomes important, I think that God will let His followers know (and protect them from it).

I think that what is important is accepting Christ's gift of salvation and following Him.

The problem is that so many seem to forget that the Bible teaches the it is God who will place the seal on His people. They have set about to determiine what the seal is so they can apply it themselves. Now, they think that they know what it is and can teach others so they can apply it as well. In their zeal they are attempting to supplant the work of the Creator of the Universe. It is so much better when we trust Him to do what only He can do.

God wouldn't tell us not to accept something then not tell us what it is. There's that human effort thing He has always expected of us. Hosea 4:6. We must study the Word.

I remember in Sunday school one day being told that the beast was a literal beast with ten horns. And then I was told NOT to worship it. Hello. Okay.

I do agree with Stormy that we don't have to "worry" about it. That really wasn't the right word for what I was trying to say, so I apologize.

If we keep our eyes on Christ, and pray for wisdom and understanding, I know we don't have to worry. That's where faith comes in.

I have faith that our merciful God will take the worry out of it and seal those that know Who their Creator is....the most powerful. Our One true God.

You are welcome to post here brother as far as I am concerned and I appreciate your comment. That is an interesting perspective and valid in my opinion. The difference I see in what you are saying and the actual mark that is coming is that we will all make a conscious decision at some point in the future to serve God or capitulate to man's demands.

I respectfully disagree with this comment. There isn't anything in Revelations that John wrote that is limiting the relevance for us by his culture or time line of life. I already gave you an example of why the gates were necessary in the New Jerusalem the locusts are symbolic of something deeply profound in spiritual terms much of which you would most likely dismiss off hand. Sorry for that but I'm basing what I just said on our past dialog/s.

The inspiration of the Bible makes it's writings Holy. That is why it's called the Holy Bible. Certainly not all knowledge accumulation of mankind is Holy and I certainly don't agree He is the author of all of it either.

The locusts are symbolic but the gates and the city are not. On what authority do you make that distinction? Who called the Bible holy? Do you think the parts where the Hebrews claimed God told them to rape the virgins from the other nations are also holy?
