I heard that Obama is also going to force pet owners to buy government pet insurance. If they refuse to get the Medicat or CanineCareFed coverage, they'll be fined and forced to serve 120 hours of community service at a local pet grooming facility of their choice.

I heard that Obama is having random lawn mower inspections next Friday. If your rip cord is wearing or your gas tank varnishing or your basket has a hole in it, you can suffer EPA fines of up to $50,000

They are sprinkled everywhere. There are some that run on the end times alone. All sorts of varieties. I think there are some even in the RCC.

While I personally would do NOT this and fear that something of this sort may be the mark of the beast. There is still the issue that it would have to be something important that you would lose buying and selling going to school ECT. If one person in ONE nation got this chip in his hand then he has nothing to lose either way. Again, I personally WOULD NOT do this.

I feel so weird as a Catholic asking for the RCC's position on this because every time I ask, it just seems ignored. I realize there is no official position but seriously, there has to be some Catholic thought on this. Catholics seems to avoid Revelation like the plague. I think it's kind of bizarre.

I am not a theologian, i am not the Pope or even a Bishop.

BUT IMHO - that 'one world order' thing - might have teeth to it.
If we have to use this for selling and buying - and its permanently part of us - with all the numbers we will be given [and tracked] which eliminates human dignity and privacy and free will... then i would think it should be avoided.

Then again - you know i have touched on rev in the past. And i am pretty sure i was quite outspoken on it.

Technology, etc. really does not make it seem so far fetched anymore. I really wish the RCC would address some of these things that are a concern to the Christian community as a whole. There seems to be an ignore it & it will go away attitude.

Would EVERYONE not have to be able to tract everyone though? In order for there to be one world government it would need to be under ONE leader who could tract billions of people.

We often wonder why so many Christians are considered to not be playing with a full deck. Such threads and ideas certainly contribute to that perception.

I wish I could say that I have never seen similar rubbish. Of course, I have. There are those who have a specific date for the end of the world and then follow their gurus up to the mountain to await assumption. There are those that think that the earth is less than 10,000 years old.

If you really want to avoid this and similar technology, then, for starters, you need to stop posting on the internet, stop buying automobiles and refrain from using a cell phone. BTW, you probably should not buy computers, telephones or even most appliances.

Of course, what is ignored is the ENORMOUS benefits of such technology: almost no more lost dogs or cats (almost all already have the chip), no more lost children, and much more immediate response to crimes, accidents and medical emergencies. This presumes a chip that can be remotely activated.
Also emergency rooms, doctors and operating rooms will have the blood types, allergies, drugs used, and medical history of all patients at the time of treatment. These chips are obvious use for all of us. However, they are very useful for dementia patients. And YES, the government could more easily track foreign students, past criminals and terrorists. "BIG BROTHER"? What this mean to most of you is "TECHNOLOGY".

What is amazing is that any of you think that this technology is news, other than the many ways it may be used. For example, a recent show discussed that heart patients can wear a monitor which will give his doctor medical information and alert in case if the precursors of a heart attack show up *HOURS" before a heart attack.

So, avoid technology if you must. It will be difficult. These folks are called militia and survivalists.

The thing is, attempting to produce some sort of subcutaneous microchip for the mass population would be a foolish endeavor, because it's pretty well rooted in everyone's subconscious that any kind of implanted technology such as that is connected to the mark of the beast (even if it's really not).

So if you think about, it would be economic suicide for anyone to transform into a cashless society because you would have wide swaths of individuals rejecting the technology whether they fully believed it was a "mark of the beast" sort of thing or not. Some people would feel their person was being violated, others would reject it on religious principle.

Hence why I'm more convinced it occurred in the past, it's easier to see that sort of thing implemented in 1st or 2nd century Rome than it is in our 21st century global economy.

Seriously. I come out of two protestant traditions, and have friends and family in others, and have never heard of people being worried that getting a microchip will be a religious issue. They might not like it, but they would not freak out that it might be the mark of the beast. I always find it really weird when people online get all worried about things like ID cards and such because it might be the mark of the beast.

So those people represent a variety Anglicans, Lutherans, Baptists, and United (Methodists/Presbyterians/Congregationalists). I just don't think it is really a representative belief of protestantism. Maybe of some fundamentalist/evangelicals.
