  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey all so maybe someone can relate to this issue of mine. It seems like for a while now I've lost time in my day to day life. What I mean by that is well to tell you the truth i dont really know. Time isn't going by faster but for some reason it just seems like I have less time in my day to day life (mostly after work) maybe its because of my routine now and the time i go to bed vs waking up or its just because I'm getting older but compared to my last long term job i had things are just different time wise. This has led me to a problem. sometimes like today it just seems like I'm not spending as much time in Gods word. Like all i did was listen to a couple of chapters and try to read along followed by a 30+ min session trying to talk to God but like always struggling. I know it's not performance based but I definitely struggle with that mindset and it can tire me out. Is this normal? Is anyone else like this? How would others go about this issue? Thanks?

I can remember sacrificing my time with God for work. I survived but did not really thrive. Some say you don't have time not to pray. How can that be? Because that prayer smooths a lot of road. That you recognize the issue is great. I pray that God really just blesses you giving you the rest and the peace to go deeper into fellowship.

If I may say so, a day or two of some type of fasting always seems to give me a pickup during needed times.

I meditate on His Word. It is one thing to read His Words on a page but it is another thing to "think" and "do" His Word as we go about our day.
Blessings.

I take an hour before bed often and study. Other people I know get up an hour early.
we slow down as we age, but maybe it’s a matter of discipline.
Im going to try that tonight. One of the reasons I never did was because of a putting God first mentality that I have. The first thing I would do after getting home is read as a way to put God first. If not reading then talking to him. I guess it would just get to me and make me feel bad if I read at the end of the night because I would just feel bad about it because I wouldn't be putting God first. But I'll give it a try.

Yeah I've definitely struggled with that.

I definitely struggle with prayer it's a lot of silence most of the time mixed in with my mind drifting. Its hard.
