  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What about for something like vitiligo?

:mmh: Do you mean to cover it up with makeup?

Honestly if I had something like that I would just let it be. I've seen people who have this condition and find it honestly beautiful. I know that it's extremely tough for someone to have the condition, especially since it's lifelong. I hate that someone would even have to go through something like that.

But to cover it up with makeup with be totally their choice and I'm sure they could do research online from other people who have the conditions to see what helps the best. Also their doctor might be able to help them. :)

Well for me it is not that bad. Fortunately, I am Caucasian, and it is just a white patch under one of my eyes. So my skin is lighter where it should be darker It was growing for a while a year or 2 ago. But I think it has stopped.

It can make me a little self-conscious though. I feel like a dalmation. although if it spreads to my iris and turns my eye blue that would be pretty cool. of course unless it does the other eye...

I feel bad particularly for dark skinned people.

It isn't noticeable in pictures. I don't think it is too obvious in normal conditions either (unless you are looking...), but I have had people ask me about it. One guy thought I had some sort of cream under my eye. lol.

My mom tries to get me to wear makeup. (she tried during my acne years as well). She claims her reasoning is because it hurts me professionally... but I don't buy that. I was just curious though about ya'll opinions.

Since it's lifelong/chronic, do you think it will get any worse/spread to other areas?

I say do whatever makes you feel comfortable. :)

If you're a grandpa why is your mom still trying to get you to do things? :p :satisfied:

I don't feel comfortable wearing makeup. I browsed (online of course. Going to a makeup store would be like going to one of those adult toy/bookstores lol. except at least I could wear a disguise to one of those stores if I had to go there. Not that I would) for a couple of minutes. But I don't know anything about makeup, and as I just described, it is certainly not something I am comfortable getting help with. Especially since I am not that into the idea. Maybe if I was really into the idea I would overcome the discomfort and go talk to some lady at a store.
But wearing makeup for my little patch under the eye (inverted bag) just feels vain/shallow whatever.

Maybe if it gets worse. But it has been pretty static for 2 years now. maybe stress-driven. But I have accepted my lowly retail job (I don't get paid well, but better than most), lack of love, and that it is going to take me 7 years, (9 if you include my associates degree), to get my bachelor's degree. So I allowed myself to drop to part-time as a student, and am finding life less stressful.

In other words. perhaps it is stress-related, and when I gave up the rat race, the stress and symptoms of stress went with it.
Now I just try to be content making enough money to live.

And I'm not a grandpa. I'm 26 years old. 2 semesters (3 classes) left of school.
I moved out of my parents house like 6 or 7 years ago. maybe 8... (a contributor to the stress and length of time in school), but my mom and I still keep in touch. Next month we are going to Tennessee to see the Solar Eclipse. :)

Oh and maybe it is different for girls (Momma's boy and daddy's girl ;) )
but no matter how old you get, mom is still going to try and get you to do things. I'll be 70 years old and my 90ish year old mom will still be trying to get me to do things. it's what moms do :) at least with sons. I don't know how it is with daughters.

This thread has inspired me to makeup a story about a girl who needs to makeup her mind about whether to kiss and makeup with her boyfriend. But first, I need to learn more about the demographic makeup of my readers.

I'm really glad you're finding life less stressful now and I hope that it keeps it from getting worse. I know when I had acne that stress was always the thing that made it flare up and get worse.

You're not a grandpa?! You're younger than me! Now I feel like a grandma. :p I'm 29, 30 next month. :satisfied:

I'm glad you and your Mom keep in touch. My mom and I are besties. lol And thats really cool you're going to see the Solar Eclipse. I would love to see it. Im in NC but won't be able to see it where I'm located.

Lol This is really very true. I'm 30 and I think my mom thinks I'm still 16 or something. My Dad (He passed away in 2015) always thought of me as his baby girl. I think I'm a momma and daddy's girl for sure.

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Worth the drive I think

Lol... That's alright, it was going to happen sooner or later. A personality thing? Does that mean you're grumpy and set in your ways? Do you still have your own teeth? :p

And I'm not a grandpa. I'm 26 years old.

You're only 26?! I don't even know what to do with myself. Who are you? Who am I? What is this place?!

Definitely still calling you "Gramps" in my head when I read your posts.

I have been a grandmother since I was a teen if it's a personality thing. At 15 I was called a mother hen. And I have always loved bingo! Woo hoo!

Something like that. But also grandfatherly in a fun gentleman way. Good with kids etc

I do have my teeth.

Like... 50 years. :p
no... probably 60 years. because at the rate I am aging, I will probably look like I am in my 50s when I am 70 :)
Everyone thinks I am like 16 when they see me. Just based on my appearance.
