CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

During different times of the day when it is usually slow, can you let us know if it has sped up at all?

During peak times I'm usually asleep (different timezones) so I'll need members to tell me if the site still slow down when we are at almost 2000 users online.

Most of CF seem to be faster, but the quick reply is very slow, it takes longer than the advanced reply to post.

That's odd since Quick Reply just uses AJAX - if the site is faster, this should be just as fast.

Don't overlook SNMP either. If you setup a management console at home and set your servers to send all traps there you can forward serious ones to your mobile phone or pager.
Proactive management is really the way to go.

Update: CF is almost done - we are now redirecting all www traffic to our twin LVS load balancers. The only thing not working is the slave search database server which is why Latest, Daily, Own and Search is not working yet.

Just a note - the load balancers are not really load balancing very well, and some of our web servers are overloading - the techs are working on it.
