we are in Southern Maine also. It is a wonderful area, although I could live without all the rain we are getting right now.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

WJ, we didn't have a thunderstorm here in Augusta last night, but it rained steady most of the evening/early morning until around 6 am.

I thought the weather today was nice. It didn't rain here at all. Didn't get very warm either though, maybe 70ish, hopefully it'l get a little warmer.

Hi all! Mainer here through and through! I live in York County, grew up in Kennebunkport. And for anyone not from Maine intending to ask. No, I've neither seen in person, nor met any member of the Bush family. (Seriously, I've been asked that too many times to count.) Anyway, I used to be a member here, oh, around a year ago, maybe less and there was no regional section. Glad to see one now!

OK,
I checked in at the new members board, said hi on the New England board, now last stop, home. Just wanted to say hi to all other Mainiacs. My name is Randy from Unity. As I found myself adjusting to the single life, I also found myself growing an interest in God and the Bible. On Fathers Day I officialy and spiritualy became a memeber of the Unity Union Church, and I can't get enough of the Bible. It's like reading a history book that doesnt end. I hope to hear from other Mainers and look forward to some nice intelectual conversation.

I just came back from another annual vacation at my grandparents' cottage in Bristol...spent plenty of time in the Damariscotta-Wiscasset-Bath-Brunswick area.
I've been going there since I was a kid, so I've always been fond of Maine. It's a lovely place, except for the weekend traffic on 295 and Rt. 1.
