Jesus was God's sacrifice to humanity.
What exactly did Jesus sacrifice?
If we believe in Jesus and accept His grace we do not have to suffer the consequences—Jesus did for us!
What consequences did he exactly suffer?
You see, God is a perfect God. Which means He is the epitome of justice and justice must be served.
I thought he was the epitome of mercy?
If you have sinned against God, by God's very nature, He must punish you.
The punishment should fit the crime. Eternal torture is a fitting punishment for not believing?
The flood was a special circumstance to protect His creation.
So he is just incompetent then? Based on the claim that he is all-knowing he already knew what would happen at the moment of creation and still went ahead and created us this way.
