I tried finding a bible verse about being mentally reduced(dumb) but all I could find is this:

1 Corinthians 1:26-29
26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
Proverbs 30:2
Surely I am too stupid to be a man.
I have not the understanding of a man.
Psalm 94:8
Take notice, you senseless ones among the people;
you fools, when will you become wise?
Psalm 92:6
Senseless people do not know,
fools do not understand,
Job 18:3
Why are we regarded as cattle
and considered stupid in your sight?
Job 11:12
But the witless can no more become wise
than a wild donkey’s colt can be born human.
Proverbs 15:21
Folly brings joy to one who has no sense,
but whoever has understanding keeps a straight course.

What is the role of stupidity in the Bible? How does stupidity help you?

Isn't intelligence more important than stupidity?
I mean if you're dumb and you feel that your intelligence is low how can you get smarter? Just by praying?

There's more to a person then his/her intelligence. They all have a purpose in God's world. Dumb is not a word I would use. They used to use that word with the deaf as if their being deaf reduced their intelligence. That's ignorance to me.:)

I agree with your sentiments. But thought I would just mention when they said a person was "deaf and dumb", it meant they couldn't speak. From the original meaning. "mute, silent, refraining from speaking or unable to speak." That said I totally agree with you that there is more (much more) to a person than their intelligence. And certainly intelligence doesn't guarantee an active and productive relationship with God.

Intelligence is a valuable resource, but most of us definitely don't have the sort of intelligence that, say, Albert Einstein had. The important thing for us Christians is that we use whatever intelligence God has given us in a way that serves God.

I quoted this in my Christian Prepper book.

Proverbs 21:20 CLV
20 Coveted treasure and oil are in the homestead of the wise man, Yet the stupid man swallows it all up.

Proverbs 6:6 –11 (NLT)
6. Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise!
7. Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work,
8. they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.
9. But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep? When will you wake up?
10. A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—
11. then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.”

I don't think dumb should be in OUR vocabulary as it is used now as a put down. Ignorant is less of but still.....using it means more like you are not informed on the subject. Maybe slow is the best and less offensive.

Paul was called stupid because he was less slick than the superapostles who wanted to reintroduce segregation. They alleged that because he had been scourged and robbed numerous times when actually visiting people, he was not worthy to be looked up to by the Corinthians or Galatians, like they were. Sadly we were all overawed by the refulgent personalities whose fireside video was deigned to be projected above our designer outlet podiums the Sunday before Christmas! The "intellectual" atmosphere of the NT time was mere sophistry (dishonest use of words) and the majority of Pharisees were - to Jesus' huge sadness - in the forefront of it.

Welcome to CF!
Jesus Christ of Nazareth made it clear that those who are thought of as the least are the greatest.
3Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
4Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the Earth.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
7Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called the Sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

The Corinthians text isn't referencing unintelligence. The key to its meaning follows in "according to the world's standards." See this verse for clarification.

The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.

Foolishness according to the bible is the refusal to heed wisdom. From the Lord, parents, peers, etc.

I actually found that when I became a believer in Jesus as God that my intelligence increased. One example was I went from having no ability in English, to being praised for my improvement in writing by my English teacher. I was suddenly after being saved able to comprehend much more freely. I have now completed a Computer Programming Degree, and have worked in computers for over 20 years. I have found that over that time I will often get stuck trying to remember something, and God will instantly remind me of what I had forgotten. It is seriously like he just waits there to help me, and delights in helping me improve my work.

Another interesting story is I have a Chinese father-in-law, and we used to play a game of memory together, I would always win, and I felt kind of sorry for my father-in-law because his memory was so bad. One day I just felt so bad that I prayed (in my mind, quietly but sincerely) "God heal his memory so he can play this game", after that prayer, he beat me and continued to do so in many of the games we played.

If we rely upon God, as our helper, in faith, he will definitely work with us to help us through the ups and downs of our life journey.

I had the same result. In High School I was pretty negligent of my studies... girls and music were more important. I cruised through with a B. I Shortly after being saved, I embarked on a rigorous study of the scriptures. Later, I went to college and graduated Cuma sum laude (perfect 4.0) at the top of my class (Computer science with a major in computer programming).

Try using the word "fool" in your Bible search engine.
I saw that earlier and thought that in the Bible fool does not relate to being slow or even a person's intelligence
