But is there really a monster on the island or is everyone hallucinating?
We'll they haven't actually shown us a monster, but there is reason to believe that there is one because it's been in other episodes where the monster has come into play and people have died (I think, but can't quite remember). And they have to be running from something (when that guy, I don't remeber his name, in tonight's episode "saw" the monster it was a hallucination though).

It's tough to join a complex story based series after the first few have aired. I really wish they'd have aired more previous episodes during December than they did.

The Monster is definately real since it killed the Pilot in the pilot episode. Locke has some sort of connection with the Island, and by extention the Monster.

Great Episode!!!

I can't figure out what Locke is thinking. He's definately got a plan. Why aren't they digging out around the hatch to see how big this thing is. It would be better than sitting there.

It was pretty funny when Hurley was checking for comprehension by the Korean guy, Jin. Hurley had a lot of great stuff to do tonight.

"We will want him on our side."

I wonder if Boone realized that he had seen Sawyer somewhere before.

Next week should be good.

Well I hate to say it, but I was actually fairly disappointed with tonight's episode

The Boone, Shannon story was cliché (or at least it was after we found out they were step- brother and sister). Apart from the whole beast/ Shannon's death being a vision, there weren't any real surprises (including Boone's feeling toward Shannon's "death"). It was cool seeing Sawyer at the police station though

I was, however, surprised at Jack's and Kate's interaction. I dunno, if I found out that not only had someone lied to me as much as Kate had lied to Jack, but had also killed someone, and then saw them break down because of it, I wouldn't be able to be all "chummy" afterward. Just the same, if I were in Kate's position, and was around someone who was starting to get to know all of my dark secrets, again I don't think I'd just be able to push it aside, and start being friends again. Not that I think they should be ignoring one another, but I think a level of discomfort, uncertainty and concern would have been more natural.

I was also hoping to see more of Rose and Charlie and get Claire back. I do hope they continue the Charlie and Rose story. Personally I think it'd be a really interesting dynamic to get Charlie back to his religious roots, and have him and Rose connecting and confiding in one another, on a faith based level anyway. There seem to be so few religious characters on TV, that are portrayed in a honest, yet positive, way that it'd be something different, and again interesting in their situation on the island. Plus it was touching to see them praying together last week

Like you enelya, I was hoping they wouldn't drop the Christian theme with Charlie, since seeing his backstory in "The Moth" episode. After seeing where they took it last week, I was impressed. It went a better direction that I could have thought of. As I say with most shows I watch, I hope they keep the good stuff going.

I've heard that JJ Abrams said "nothing is in here by accident." I trust that he will remember everything these folks have went through and come back to it, if it's important. Usually when a reveal is done on a character, there are 5 more questions that arise for each bit of info given. Tonight a few of the reveals happened without creating more questions.

Holding to the pattern, Great show after an average one.

I was not happy that all but Charlie Had forgotten about Claire.
Everyone working on their own thing.

LOcke is very unpredictable.

As far as Kate goes, She could have killed all of her bank robbery gang but didn't. She has remorse for the person that was killed. Not the actions of a
cold blooded killer. Kate is still quite a mystery. I wouldn't trust her all together, but she is not a murderer.

Jack has pretty much been on the back burner.

How many more people will die and return? Charlie and Shannon.

Has anyone died since the pilot?

Shannon didn't die. She was never there.

I really want to hear Hurley's story. He's the one character that doesn't have some sinister side showing.

Hurley was hilarious last night when Jin was trying to treat his foot. Had me laughing out loud!

So is Locke some kind of "shaman"???? Last night, it was like he was "communing" with the island; like he understands everything completely. Strange but compelling character.

I couldn't make out what Sawyer was going on about in the police station. Did anybody catch that? In case it means anything?

I think we'll find out why Sawyer was at the police station when the second part of his story is revealed. His backstory the first time was only about 1/4 of it, I think.

I heart Hurley so much. That dude cracks me up.

I think that Boone will now be "blessed" with the knowledge of the island like Locke is. The island kicked Locke's butt, and now he "knows" what is going on. I think Boone will be the same way.

Really excited for the Michael/Walt story!

And I can't wait for more action from Sun.

Well Shannon really wasn't dead, it was just "magic" on Locke's part. He put something on Boone's head to make him see things that weren't there. Or at least that's what he said he did.

I don't think anyone has died since the pilot, but Claire has disappeared and we haven't seen her in a few weeks.

I think it is just because he was the first to encounter the monster.

Actually, that one lady died in the ocean when Boone was trying to save her & Jack saved Boone instead of the lady. I think it was Jack's episode?

I'm a dorkface, I really thought Shannon was dead when Boone found her. Lol.

I think we all did! I certainly did because there's a rumor going around that.....
*MAYBE SPOILER!*

....one of the main characters would die before the season is over. No offense or anything, but if anyone has to die, I hope it's Shannon. So far she hasn't really done anything except translate that French message. *ducks tomatoes being thrown by shannon fans*
