I literally got chills when Locke touched Walts arm and Walt said "Don't open it!" I seen it in the previews, but it was way more intense in the show. Then then when Walt confessed to Michael that he burned the first raft down and Michael said "then we don't have to go" and Walt said "Yes we do". I was like, he knows they're going to open that hatch and he doesn't want to be on the island when they do!

And the Kate centered episode left more questions then it gave answers. Like why was she on the run in the first place? Why was her mother afraid of her? I'm thinking whoever she killed may be the reason she's on the run (my theory - it's her father). How did she end up with the airplane - when she clearly left it behind (and we know from another episode she got it from the safety deposit box)? And what is the signifigance of the airplane, there must be more to the story, because when she was talking to Tom about their time capsule, he said something along the lines, I can't believe you made me put that in there, and she said "you know why". And did you notice after Sawyer dumped the contents of her sack on the sand the toy plane looked like the crash site. And was there a signifigance to all the license plates in the trunk? Does Kate link have a link with the other islanders, like we're picking up other islanders do. We already know Hurley owned the box company Locke worked at. And we know Sawyer and Jack's dad drank together in Australia. Is everyone conntected? And what about the kids leaving the hotel room - were they important? Like I believe the little girl was crying and the father looked familiar. (I taped it and I'm going back to watch that scene) And we know Kate said she killed someone, but I doubt that Tom is who she was referring to. Althought she may feel responsible for his death, she didn't actually kill him. (And I'm wondering if that car crash has some link with another islander - just a theory of mine - possibly Locke - that caused his paralysis). I did catch the date the tape was made was August 15, 1989 (815).

And the promo for next week looks so exciting I can hardly wait!!!!!! The others!!!!!!!! Run - Hide - or DIE! And will Hurley notice the numbers on the hatch? And monsoon season is approaching - what's that going to mean for the islanders? And who's going to end up on the raft? And will Turnup Head ever get a name?

See I ended up with more questions then answers? How about you?

I had lunch with my best friend the other day (he's only seen one episode of Lost and has not yet seen the light, so please pray for him).

Can you believe that I undertook the enourmous task of trying to explain to him just how DEEP this show was? Oh man, what an experience. I felt like I was being filled with the Holy Spirit as I was trying to explain all the connections that each of the survivors had with each other, and all of the parallels that the writers sewed into the storyline... it was truly amazing.

I highly recommend to all of you that you find a person who does not yet know about the wonderful joy of Lost, and sit them down and explain it to them. My friend was left eager to watch... to bad for him there's only two episodes left in the season.

How many seasons do you think a show like this can last? Do you think there'll come a time when ALL the secrets are out the bag and they finally get rescued (or are all killed?).

It is possible that she did actually kill someone, the reason she always dreamed of running away. BUt her real remorse is for getting her childhood friend killed.
No matter why she was running this would be enough to charge her with murder.
In comitting a felony a person is killed, then it is murder.

Sawyer went over the line last night. He shouldn't have accused Kate unless he knew she did it. And definately not ruin her chance to a future aftr the island.

Alot of secrets seemed to slip out last night. And even more were made.
Kate gave Sun the idea of poisoning her husband.

Next episode looks great. They cast off and have "them" coming for the group.

What happened to Kate in her childhood? Tom said on the tape, "You're always running, Kate" and she responded, "You know why." It sounds like something bad happened to her. Did she blame her mother for whatever it is? Is that why they hadn't seen each other in so long, and Kate only came back because she was dying of cancer? Is that why her mother was afraid of her?

Very interesting episode. As suzybeezy said, a LOT of questions were raised from this one. Especially about the hatch - there's no handle from the outside... remember that rope that came out of the water and led to the French woman's trap? Where did the rope start? Somewhere in the water? Ethan came out of the water when he killed Steve, that's why the sentries they had posted around the jungle to watch for him didn't see him approaching. Is the entrance to the hatch somewhere under the sea?

That is so funny. I've actually done this. And when you try to explain it to someone they get this glazed over look like you started speaking a foreign language. And the more you explain things the more excited you become and the more confused they get. It really is a funny experience. I hope they rerun the episodes from the beginning during the summer to catch people up who weren't watching all season.

Another great episode, but it always leaves me wanting more. Has anybody seen any bios on the writers for this series? It really has a feeling of being deeply spiritual to me, but maybe that's because I want it to feel that way . . . you know, the second chance thing -- starting over with a clean slate, etc., but then, like Kate, discovering that the past is part of the present.

Christians, etc., please continue praying for more viewers to tune in. I subtly suggested to my mom and my co-worker, check out Lost this week (when a replay of Locke's initial backstory posted) thinking the mind-blowing revelation would hook them (much like part 2 of the Pilot did me), but neither has become a watcher.

Just a thought about taping/TiVoing the show. I watched Wednesday night's episode live and came away feeling satisfied, but not with the same sense of "wow" that I had from so many previous shows. But then I watched my tape copy the next day. Man! It just kept blowing me away. And I watched the preview for next week a dozen times before resetting my VCR to record Survivor.

I know there are a lot of analogies to Twin Peaks, which I never watched, about a show burning out in season one, but the writers on Lost have done three things right. 1. Created more questions than the murder of a single character. 2. Created characters that are as compelling as they are enigmatic. And 3. Saved tons of episodes/story lines with the remaining 30ish Survivors apart from the main characters.

I have to admit to being temporarily fooled by Michael getting sick as not being poisoning by Sun, but by the "sickness" establishing a foothold in the Oceanic 815 survivors. This show is so good...

Don't forget the potential survivor group from the back half of the plane.

You know what I've been thinking? That maybe the people who are going to go after the survivors of the plane crash are inside the hatch. They built it so that only they could get into it and that's why Walt doesn't want them to open it because those people are inside it. Other thoughts?

I found another cool site http://www.thefuselage.com/threaded/index.php It's actually sponsored by J.J. Abrams. There's a section for the Creative Team and for the Actors where you can post question. If you look through it, you can see alot of the questions we posed here that were answered. It is rather interesting, but avoid the spoiler section if you don't want to know anything because they really can give away alot of details. And I avoid them at all cost on this show.

On a Live Journal Lost community someone posted this really good theory on what's going to happen in the season finale. They made all these connections to the Bible and I thought it was really good so I thought I'd post it here.

Theory on how it's going to end:
Well first off I believe that the season has been full of clues as to the nature of the Island, and whats going to happen in the future. I believe that the finale will go something like this. The first books are the old testament are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers. I read through them all yesterday, and if you think about them in conjunction with Watership Down and A Wrinkle In Time (a topic I mentioned earlier) things start to make a lot of sense.

So lets look first at Genesis, the story of creation. In my mind Genesis relates to the story of "Adam and Eve" the two bodies found when the lost crew first enter the caves. Remember that somebody (can't remember exactly who) found the black and white stones? Well I like to think of those as the apple Eve is tricked into eating. All through the show there are many allusions to a black and white object (The stones, The Backgammon game, Sawyers glasses- please comment if I've missed one) which represents good and evil or a secret to the island (Rousseau's 'Black Rock') or as the bible puts it- the apple represents the tree of knowledge from which all wisdom is taken, and to eat is to desire to become god. I believe that the 'Black rock' she refers to is the key to some sort of psychokinetic power- more on that later.

Skip ahead now to modern day where we find the book of Exodus. The four major events in Exodus are as follows : 1. The freeing of the Hebrews of slavery. This is the series of events which removes the lost crew from their everyday lives, or 'slavery' of the modern world(.- I believe Walt or Locke mentions something about freedom of the island. ) and their migration to the island. It has been often mentioned that they are all there for a reason, as with the Hebrews who were God's (the black rocks) chosen people. 2. The Journey to Mount Sinai. I believe this is simply the plane journey to the island, where all the current events of the show have taken place.

This is where I delve into a little more speculation. The third event is Gods covenant with his people, in which they are given a series of laws and instructions to live by. In lost terms, I believe that this refers to 'the others' a second group of people who came to the island in another fashion before our castaways. We know that at the very least 3 other groups have come there ( Adam and Eve, The army team mentioned in Hurleys episode, and Rousseau's scientists) One or more of these groups must have a special interest in the power of the island itself, and they possibly worship or work for the 'black rock' somehow. Finally, The Hebrews build a place of worship for Israel, and further laws regarding the proper worship of god are revealed. I believe this to be the building of the radio tower near the black rock, which enables to builders to draw others to the island, possibly by using the power of the numbers.

Ok so now we have the third book Leviticus. I believe that this refers specifically to Locke, as he seems to have a relationship with the powers of the island in tune with 'the others'. Leviticus basically lays down a lengthy series of instructions and commands for his people to follow in order to survive (I believe Jack once mentions that Locke is their best chance of survival). Remember that Locke often knows things because he has 'seen the heart of the island' - the Black Rock. His prophetic visions (of Boones death for one) and his seemingly uncanny ability to find useful things on the island, and the fact that he can now walk all point to Locke being like one of the others, he says when trying to open the hatch (and I'm paraphrasing here) 'I've done everything you told me to, why won't you give me what I want?" I think he is talking to the Black Rock here and not the hatch, as he somehow has discovered the islands power.

Now comes that part where I guess whats going to happen next. The fourth book of the Old Testament is Numbers, the title of Hurleys episode. In Numbers Moses and Aaron (Locke maybe?) are commanded by God to take a census of all the people in the land before taking a journey to the true promised land. I consider Hurley to be moses because a) he took the census b)He was the one (at least in my mind) he began the chain of events that lead to everybody coming to the island by using the numbers again, which somehow triggers certain people to come their, possible against their will c) I think there is an episode or two where Hurley walks around with a shirt on his head and he has a stick, which looks very Moses like (anybody got a screen cap to back this up?) and d) Hurley is awesome. After the first census is taken the people goto Moab, east of the Jordan river. They spend some time their (mistakenly)before leaving to the southern border of Canaan but failed to enter the promised land that way. Afterwards they return and go east of the Jordan where some people stay while the remainder cross the river into Canaan.

I think this relates to the story like this. The Lost crew first arrive and settle on the beach, while trying to leave the island they move to the caves , and while this helps them survive they do not find an escape. People leave the caves (after Ethan, the representative of the others) attacks Claire. People return to the beach where people stay while the raft leaves for the promised land , hoping to return to collect the others. Now if we look at this in relation to Watership Down, heres what I think will happen.Walt (fiver), after telling locke (thereah) of the dangers of the hatch, leads the way to a new colony, where they find a second a tribe of animal friends and some enemies. I think that the raft is going to leave shore and miss the trade wind by a few hours, and during the turn around will land on the other end of the island with the other end of the plane (as predicted in boones radio message) . The second group are living in fear as they are in much closer proximity to 'the others' (Ethans group) and the tower built under the black rock. They assist in their battle only to have the other rabbits ( the main lost crew) join them in their fight, where they find a new home after the leaders of each rabbit tribe (the black and white stone) fight over leadership of the tribe. I think once Michael and the raft crew find the radio tower, they will contact Sayid (one of the few people outside locke to here the voices of 'the others') using the tower in order to give the other castaways directions to the second tribe.

I believe the black rock is emits some kind of psychokinetic field (maybe an alien meteorite) that enhances the latent psychic power of certain individuals, and may manifest the subconscious desires of people in its vicinity. This is demostrated through the visions Jack has early on. Also I believe that Walts dog DID die during the plane crash (the rumored season 2 episode with a flashback from the dogs perspective may confirm/deny this) and Walt brought him back to life somehow, in the same fashion as he conjured up that bird in his episode 'special'. Thats all for now, that should clear up a few of the missing pieces that I left out from the earlier post.
