Also, was the Private Investigator hesitant about telling Locke about his fathter because his father was a celebrity? Or was there something else about him that the PI didn't feel comfortable with?

I was wondering if the PI wasn't paid off by the father -- and if maybe that was why he was warning Locke away from meeting him.

:sigh: I missed it. It any willing soul feels like filling me in on all the details, I'd appreciate it. If not, I'll just wait until it's up on TVWP.

So I think I've got it covered, but if I left something out perhaps someone else can fill in the pieces. And perhaps someone else can do the island story.

Scene open with Locke, WITH HAIR, working in a toy store/department explianing the game Mousetrap to a young boy n typical Locke fashiong. There is an older woman watching for a short distance. He catches her watching him again in the parking lot and chases after. In the process he gets hit by a car but is OK. I thought there was going to be some tie in with his injury, but it appeared to be nothing. He catchs up to the woman, confronts her and finds out it's his mother. It turns out Locke had been rasied in numerous foster families, so not so nice. Cut to them having cofffee in a diner/cafe. Locke asks about his father. She claims tyhat locke is special. Divinely concieved.

Cut to Locke and private investigator. The PI confirms the woman is his mother, but is reluctant to reveal whho the father is. Locke insists and it turns out his father is very wealthy. The guard won't let John in, instead he calls up to the house. The father gives permission and John goes in. The father greets him, gives him a drink, they make small talk. The father claims the mother was mentally ill, she didn't tell him about John until about a year later, he hasn't seen her, but at least she brought them together. The father has no other family and likes to hunt. He invites John to go hunting the following Sunday.

When John arrives, the guard greets him warmly and let's him right in. The father is getting a dialasis treatment. Lock said I thought you said 11:00.
The father said no 12:00, sorry you had to see this, I wanted to be feeling as well as possible for our day, I'm on the waiting list for a kidney donation.

Cut to them hunting, John is a great shot. They talk some more about the kidney thing. Cut to the hospital, they are both prepped for surgerey, the father saying thank you. I'll see you on the other side.

Cut to John coming to. The nurse saying how kind he was to have done that. John looks over and the other bed is empty. He has to explain that it was his father even though the had different names, then asks where he is. the nurse says he checked out that morning. John is very confused, then his mother comes in. "He made me do it, it was his idea." She explains that the father could not have asked John for the donation, it had to be his own idea so they set him up. John rushes to the fathers house, the guard greets him coldly, but somewhat sorrowful. Tells him he can't go in. John gets out, looks at the house, looks at the camera. Yells at both then leaves. We're left with John crying in his car while driving away, still with no explaination of his injury.

Didn't you do this once before??
LOL, yes, we go to church on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 which means I don't get home until at least 8. So yes, this is not the first time and probably will not be the last. But I do appreciate the info.

It does look at though the story is taking a spiritual turn, doesn't it? What with the immaculate conception bit and the Virgin Mary statues...

Hmmm...would this make John sort of the Christ figure...the savior of them all?

The problem though is that immaculate conception bit was a lie and the statues had herion in them. So it seems more like something evil wrapped up in order to look good.

I would definitely put Locke on the evil side of things. Remember when Claire (I think it was her) had that dream about Locke, and he had that thing with his eye going on? I thought at the time it was because he's the only one on the island who has seen the jungle monster that ripped up the pilot of the plane - the first time he came back with a wild boar, he came face-to-face with it, and since then he's been sort of "seeing" things about the island. But it always had an evil undertone in it to me.

I think Locke is the most interesting character on the show and I can't wait to learn more about him.

I thought it was heart-rending when that guy (supposedly his father) took his kidney the way he did. It made me feel a lot of pity and sympathy for Locke. It is simply horrible that he was used the way he was, but I'm still wondering what crippled him -- it almost haaaaaas to be something to do with the kidney surgery, his leaving the hospital (blood on his back and all). Maybe while he's stopped in the street crying he gets rear-ended or something. I just knew that creepy "father" was simply buttering him up to get his kidney. Poor guy.

Oh, and think about it: Boone was bad in forcing the nanny to go up the stairs and down the stairs until she fell and broke her neck -- is his injury or death in payment of his evil deed????? Yikes -- that's a bad thought.

Following this train of thought that the island is somehow communicating with Locke, telling him what to do...tried to take his legs away from him if he didn't listen...

I could foresee Locke having to make a choice...his friends or his legs/life at some point.

Hi Lost fans. :)

With so many Christians, thought y'all would appreciate the following:

01. At the end of the season, the cast will have been on the island for 40 days.

02. As Locke was struggling last night, he fell three times [the same number of times Christ fell as he was carrying his cross.]

03. I haven't been able to pause at the correct point, yet, but from what I understand.. in the rock formation above/near the plane.. Jesus' face is in the rocks.

Next post will be more about other ideas...

... and they said that the immaculate conception was being born without a father, and confusing it with the Incarnation. Immaculate means born without Original Sin, not without the aid of a male. :) Oh well, it was a good episode, just an hour or two too short.

Just a therory: I think Locke is in tune with the life of the island and he will sacrifice whatever necessary to satisfy the needs of the island. I'm thinking that may be what happened to the french woman's people. She said they all went mad and heard voices. Seems like the road they are taking Locke down. And if Ethan was connected to the french women and was after Claires baby, it's possible Locke is going to make his attempt at giving the island the baby. Especially now that he knows about the drugs, he'll be able to lure Charlie away from Claire. There is definitely a connection between the island and the life of that baby. So there's been a few Biblical references already in the show, so I'm thinking a possible sacrificial thing. It seems that would have been the only reason Ethan would have wanted Claire so badly. Creepy thought, I know. But also leave open the possibility of a great unsuspecting hero.

I just watched my tape of last week's episode of Lost and I think part of the end was cut off and the previews for next week (although I've seen the previews when I watch other shows on ABC). The last thing I saw was Locke kneeling on top of that hatch they were trying to open and then it cuts to the next thing I taped. Is there anything that I missed?

This is the part where I screamed in frustration because the show was over, heh.

Locke is kneeling on top of the hatch, and he is pounding away at it, screaming in combined rage - toward his father, who betrayed him by abandoning him after taking his kidney, and toward the island who he felt had also betrayed him by not telling him how to get into the hatch after he had done everything the island wanted him to do. So he's screaming, "How could you do that to me?!" and raging and banging on the hatch... and then suddenly a light comes on inside the glass of the hatch door.

Fade to black... and here comes the Lost logo. Hence my dismay :D

Thanks! I'd been wondering about the light thing other people were talking about. I probably would have screamed in frustration as well if I had seen that part, but I didn't want the show to be over anyway even though I didn't see the light part.

More Lost scoopage from TVGuide's Ask Ausiello column:

Question: We've gone two weeks without Lost scoopage. Have you no mercy? — Mandy

Ausiello: OK, here's some scoop, er, I mean, inside dope: The soon-to-be-whacked castaway will be back next season in one form or another. And the actor/actress behind said castaway took the news of his/her character's passing badly. Very badly.

and

Question: There is a rumor going around that Buffy's Emma Caulfield may be appearing in an upcoming episode of ABC's Lost. Any truth to this? — Nathan

Ausiello: No truth, although a somewhat-major name in the independent film world will be making a splashy cameo before the season ends.
