I feel your anger, squint.
This thread is about scriptures proclaiming which day is "the Lord's Day." Please don't continue to spam the thread with vitriol that derails the OP.

Anger? When is it ANGER to promote the Love and healing of our God in Christ?

Do you have a bottom line you'd like to get at? Would you like me to PRIME you on this matter?

OK

What is YOUR POSITION on ANYONE who does NOT accept SATURDAY as the SABBATH DAY?

have a ball..

Well do you follow the masoretic text completed 1000 years after Christ, or the LXX, which He and the apostles quoted? And which council gave you your canon?

Do you hold the same beliefs as the one's God used to give you your bible?
How do we know the LXX is an accurate translation of the original Hebrew?

Yes. As I told the Muslims on the NCR, if they are going to refute our Bible, then they should learn both the Hebrew and Greek

But if Muslims are going to refute ours and the Jew's Scriptures, I think it would be best to also study the Hebrew. With that, I bid you Salam

Good luck selling that to the Muslims or the Jews.

It would probably be easier for you to sell ice to someone in Alaska. :D

BTW thanks for posting that.

Welcome.
The Christian that is debating the Muslims appears to know the Arabic better than most of the Muslims there from what I have see.
I pop in on that board once in awhile to keep them "honest" ^_^

Ever read Hebrews 4? The Sabbath is a type.

16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

The Sabbath (Saturday) and the "Lord's Day" (Sunday) are two different things.

A quote from the Catechism Of The Catholic Church:

CCC 2174 - Jesus rose from the dead "on the first day of the week." Because it is the "first day," the day of Christ's Resurrection recalls the first creation. Because it is the "eighth day" following the sabbath, it symbolizes the new creation ushered in by Christ's Resurrection. For Christians it has become the first of all days, the first of all feasts, the Lord's Day (he kuriake hemera, dies dominica)—Sunday:

CCC 2175 - Sunday is expressly distinguished from the sabbath which it follows chronologically every week; for Christians its ceremonial observance replaces that of the sabbath. In Christ's Passover, Sunday fulfills the spiritual truth of the Jewish sabbath and announces man's eternal rest in God. For worship under the Law prepared for the mystery of Christ, and what was done there prefigured some aspects of Christ:

Those who lived according to the old order of things have come to a new hope, no longer keeping the sabbath, but the Lord's Day, in which our life is blessed by him and by his death.

Well, at least you said CHRISTIANS!!!
Coincidentally, that is the time Josephus describes the Roman army coming upon Jerusalem.

Matt 24:19 "Woe yet to those in belly having and to those suckling in those the days!
20 "Be ye praying yet that no may be becoming the flight of ye of winter neither a Sabbath.

John 11:48 "If ever we may be letting Him thus, all shall be believing into Him, and shall be coming the Romans and they shall be taking away of us and the Place and the Nation.

http://www.davieapostolicchurch.com/studies/destuct/

The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover. At this season multitudes came up from all the surrounding country, and from distant parts, to keep the festival and the city was at this time crowded with Jewish strangers,...........
.......The Temple now presented little more than a heap of ruins

This Sabbath was not the Saturday-Sabbath which begins on Friday evening. This was the High Holy Day Sabbath, which that year fell on a Thursday evening and Friday-DAY. In other words, the HOLY DAY Sabbath (Passover-Unleavened Bread) was followed by their 7th day Saturday-Sabbath, thereby having a double-Sabbath, back-to-back.

On the contrary, my introducion to the Orthodox Church was a year long study of Revelation, led by our priest, who published the following
http://www.amazon.com/Apocalypse-Re...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1204489563&sr=8-1
Father Philemon was my spiritual father, to his death in 2004.

We do not liturgically read the Apocalypse, we live it, and know it.
Hi. Interestin link. I spent about 5 months translating that book from the 3 main greek texts which can be found here, the Tex-Rec, Byz-Maj, and W-H:

http://www.olivetree.com/cgi-bin/EnglishBible.htm

Do the Orthodox have a complete commentary on the book of Revelation?

http://www.scripture4all.org/

Reve 1:9 I John, the brother of ye, and together-partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in Christ Jesus became in the island, the one being called "Patmos", thru the Word of the God/YHWH and the witness of Jesus Christ.
10 I became in Spirit in the Lord's day and I hear behind of me a sound, great, as a trumpet,
11 saying "which you are seeing, write into a scrollet and send to the seven Out-calleds: into Ephesus, and into Smyrna, and into Pergamos and into Thyatira and into Sardisand into Philadelphia and into Laodicea"

Can you explain that statement.

It was short and simple . I can only reword it ... No one who tells others that they whould keep the Sabbaths mentioned in the Torah actually keep the Sabbaths , themselves . They throw the Sabbath commands that they don't like out the window . So , while they make an appearance of disgust that other christians have changed the Sabbath , they have also changed the Sabbath by ignoring the commands .

Is the Old Testament that Christ used the same as yours? Take a look here: Councils Proved To Be In Error
http://biblelight.net/hebrew-canon.htm

Proof? Well this is not proof either, but it is certainly a little more objective.

http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pines/7224/Rick/Septuagint/spexecsum.htm

How do we know the LXX is an accurate translation of the original Hebrew?

I go by the Church for what is accurate. However, the LXX was translated before Christ. The Masorectic text was completed almost 1000 years after Christ.

My question was more than this. If we go scripture only, then which ones? And where did we get them from. EGW uses a canon inspired by the undivided catholic church to prove their canon is wrong.

Does that make any sense?

:amen: Remember also, the Orthodox do not really read Revelation.

FALSE! FALSE! FALSE!

I CANT BELIEVE YOU SAID THAT.

WE DO NOT READ IT DURING THE LITURGY. IT IS THE ONLY BOOK OF SCRIPTURE THAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE LITURGY...

ASK ME WHY.

FORGIVE ME...

How do we know the LXX is an accurate translation of the original Hebrew?

Apostle tested... Christ approved.

You realize that the LXX was what Christ used?

To give an example... St. Simeon was the translator of Isaiah.

Luke 2:25-35 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name [was] Simeon; and the same man [was] just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him. And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this [child] is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Forgive me...
