  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm happy to hear that!

Can you'll be praying for me? I have begun nursing school wednesday, but i really get "hit" by it this upcoming Wednesday. I have 11 chapters to read before the first day of Pharm class.

I'm excited, about the challenge that is coming up. But I'm also kind of afraid that I will get lazy and fail. I have a 3.80/4.00 GPA....but i'm used to doing less than 10 hours of homework a week. Now...while nursing I'm going up to 25-30 hours a week of homework, not including 20 hours for class/clinicals.

Thanks!

Consider it done!:prayer:

Pharmacology was my FAVORITE class. I learned so much. Plus, I'm the kind of person, that loves homework. And I'm good at cramming right before the test. :D:D
Craming doesn't work for this version of Pharm...haha I'm so used to cramming. Study 6 hours before the test :).

How do you deal with loneliness? Not really from not having a SO (although I've been there) but also from not having any/many friends. It's just something I've been dealing with for awhile.:(

Sad to report I handle lonliness with alcohol. Jim Beam, and Jack Daniels are great friends of mine.

Consider it done!:prayer:

Consider it done, Anthony! Like I mentioned earlier, you're in for an intense course load. Pharmacology will be the most difficult by far. I'm not trying to scare you; rather, I'm letting you know what to expect. What you described about the homework volume is normal for Nursing. Keep plugging away at it! you'll get through it! :)

Anatomy and physiology (A&P) can be demanding as well, but not as much as the pharmacology. Please ask God to guide you also. With Him, everything is possible!

I know that you can do it Anthony. You're very smart and you've made it this far. Survive this hazing and you're set for life!!! :D

Love you bro.

Thank you'all so much. It really needed to hear that tonight.

Tonight, I'm kind in a reflective/depressed mood. I just got to spent two hours hanging with with my Frat brothers; and some girls a soriety and I am just really reflecting in how this last year I have changed so much. I have become a lot more social, relaxed, and out going. I finally found a group of guys that accept me for who i am, and will listen to me no matter what. I finally have somewhat of a social life. I'm actually happy and filled with true joy, not based on some girl, grade, etc...it took me over 6-7 years to get to this place. But I realized what I'm about to get myself into.
The avg Rn student through this program has to give about 50-60 hours to the RN program through classes, studying, and clincials to succeed. This is on top of my 16 hours of work with a group home. I really don't know if i will be able to have a normal social life anymore till next year (the first year is the hardest). I'm already starting to plan my 24 hours on my PDA/Outlook aka electronic day planner. When I sleep, how long, when I eat, when I study, and when I get a break. Only thing i don't have planned is e-mail, bathroom, and CF :D.. And....about 75% students are like this for this program.
I'm ready for this challenge in my life...and yes it is a pride thing . I look back and see all the things that I gave up in because it was "hard". I really need to do this for myself....to say....I got through that. To have the ability to persevere, to keep going when i'm tired, sick, and can't fix anymore information in my head.
I'm just struggling about giving up so much very soon....Wednesday is my first day of true class. I know that I will have friends in the nursing program, and people deep relationship. But at the same time....I will truly want people outside the nursing program that I can do stupid, crazy, and fun things to do with to forget about all the nursing information, my patients, etc.
I see God bringing me to the anvil again....to be broke, reforged, and made stronger. I thought.....I done for a while :). But...I know I will be a much stronger and different person coming out of this.

Thanks again you'all!
Anthony

Anthony, what you described about the lack of a social life may have to be put on hold for a bit, as you undertake this commitment you made. You're going to be forged and changed when the program is over, but you WILL have better appreciation of the people with whom you're working. Any genuine friend will understand this and take this into consideration. Please learn your limits as to what outside activities and how much of each you can do, seriously! You DON'T want to burn yourself out by doing too much!!

I encourage you to take some time daily for reflection and ask God to come into that time and show you how He wants you to do things. You have the ability. Please ask the Right People. :crossrc:

It's because all of us have found each other, and we can encourage each other! This post has kind of turned into our struggle with feeling alone, but also an prayer request/encouraging/random talks.

Thanks Crux. I'm feeling better today, I will update later, when I have focus more, and not have 8 more chapters of Pharm to do :sigh:. Haha, I'm delaying still :)

Seriously, What Keri said is the truth! The sooner you get yout material read, the sooner you can relax. Indirectly, I'm in the same shoes as you, except I have to have 54 pages of music memorized before the opera performance at the end of September. It's difficult, but I have several movements memorized. The less time I spend here and the more I spend memorizing my work, the better off I'll be. Singing rapid-fire Italian syllables to very fast music is no easy task, believe me!!

Aye, very much so! I just like to annoy Keri for the fun of it :)

But for the update. I'm more at peace about everything now. Crufix your right about my real friends are going to have to understand what I'm going through.

Today at church, a frat brother of mine and his gf was in the service. They actually say next to me, and one of my austic female cilents (I was a "work"). We just got to talk, and enjoy ourselves. I told them about how busy I'm going to be...and how I'm putting aside Friday afternoon/night for a no homework or nursing time. That if they could...call me Friday night to hang out...because I need to do random, stupid, and mindless things to relax. They were really supportive and encouraging. They will call me, and ask me to go fun stupid to laugh at. I love my friends so much. We are so goofy and crazy.

So yep, that's it!

Wow, Crucifix that's a lot of stuff to memorize! Good luck on all of that! I love music and playing it. I was a band nerd...Bari Saxophone! I miss playing so much.

So yep!

No.........she's not on here and she's not good with computers either.

She wants me to put her on Match.com
She could give Match.com a try...I'm not sure how much luck people have with online dating sites...I know that there are some people that have had great success...she doesn't really have anything to lose by giving it a try unless you feel there is a reason she shouldn't do it...

Is she involved in church? Does she have some close girlfriends that she hangs out with? What does she do to fill her time?
