I just never understood who jam bands appeal to other than the obvious dope smoking hippie stereotype (which I understand isn't true).
Q: What did the hippie say when he ran out of pot?
A: Man, this music sucks.
The songs are not long and some have an edge to them.
Try Chilly Water. First song from ther first album.
or Climb To Safty.
Those aren't bad. I like them.

I used to have a lyric from this song as my custom title. It's got a long instrumental segment but they're not jamming, it's all actually well-rehearsed. Well it is kinda raw, so maybe not well-rehearsed, but rehearsed. :) Really inventive guitar work.

Great song, thanks for the contribution! I actually like it a lot -I like all kinds of music.

...I'm still curious what @Ana the Ist is into though. :)

If Television was influential in the creation of punk and alternative... Then the Paul Butterfield blues Band was the great grand-daddy of modern jam.

Depends on a lot of things ...

I've listened to a pretty wide variety of genres because I tend to get stuck on them, then I play them out, then I move onto a new genre.

So while I could tell you what I've been listening to lately, it's not really an accurate reflection of my tastes.

Here's a gem just for you Landon. Merry Christmas.

Botch - Transitions From Persona To Object (live …:

Sound quality is excellent for a small live show.

That's hardcore, bro. :) I like the high-pitch part towards the end where the strobes kick in.

Merry Christmas! :christmastree:

Botch was one of the originators of a style ridiculously named "mathcore" mainly because of the structural nature of the songs and odd time signatures.

While I appreciate those things, what I like most about Botch is their guitarist...he's one of those guys with a knack for creating catchy repetitive guitar riffs. That's not my favorite song of theirs...but it had one of the best sound qualities of a live show I could find.

Glad you enjoyed.
