  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

One of my FB friends, who is a strong Republican was asking why people are waiting to vote and not going now. One of her friends said people need to go vote because there were many "sub-cultures" in the lines waiting to vote. He didn't want to come out and say, "minority," so he said "sub-culture" which just sounds stupid.

Then, in response to the original question someone else said, "Because Republicans work." I came in and said, "I'm a Democrat and I've had some kind of job since I've been 14 years old." She said, "You're also white." I just didn't even know what to say to that. People like that just make me want to forget I'm a pacifist and knock their stupid heads together.

Well, you know that people working nights don't have "real jobs".:cool: I stood in line with a whole bunch of caucasians. Guess they must be subcultural types, being as how they were voting in the daytime.

I voted before work, thankyouverymuch.:cool::kiss:

Same here...both that I work nights, and that I voted before work, and to top it off, surrounded by caucasians!

I'm bummed - Jill Stein didn't even make it on their ballot. Doesn't bode well for winning the first round of our "Jill Stein for LEED Platinum" office pool. Oh well, there's still LEED Gold and Silver, and Certifiable. ;)

No, just vote out all the obstructionist tea party people, especially that nut who threatened people to sign that pledge that gridlocked our country.

I don't see the Peace and Freedom ticket up there. Surely everyone is voting the Barr/Sheehan ticket?

Nope, and I was actually looking for it too. I was curious as to who else would be running on that line for other things, but there was nothing. There was a communist party line though...

We had a record turnout for early voting in my county in Texas. I tried to vote twice on the last day of early voting; but the lines were so long, and there was not a parking spot in sight. So, I decided to wait.

Today, the voting location was actually my Parish. There were only a few cars in the parking lot. I walked right in to the Parish Hall and found not even one person in line. Voting was quick and easy.
