You know what i like about Windows? It means less confusion for people that just want to check their email and that means less stupid questions for all those poor ITs out there that have to deal with them.
The big con with windows is that Microsoft have told the lie that end-users don't need training to use it. This is what creates the tech support nightmare.

It a site wants to reduce the tech support calls, then the MAC is the best platform for this. Supporting them technically, however, is another story.

So much tech support infrastructure is devoted to overcoming the limitations of windows it is unbelievable. Actually, it wasn't until I limited the desktops to Linux only on one site that I realised this. All this extra infrastructure just dropped away as unnecessary.

I really can't believe that people want to allow some rich company to control their access to things. Are you even aware that MS has built in methods to track your internet operations? Do you care that they force you to take upgrades? Doesn't it bug you that MS is so slow that a 70 Mhz pentium outruns the XP system on a 1 Ghz processor?

I see so many saying they can't take time to learn it, yet the first time you sat down to a Windows machine you had a learning curve before you. I learned UNIX in less than a week. Was programming it is less than a month. Was administering a 25 user operation in less than 2 weeks.

Windows is easy, sure, but you give up so much. Windows doesn't offer you half of what linux gives you free.

It scares me a little that you seem to think Windows was free of a learning curve. You have been indoctrinated by the Gates machine to think that WinXX is so great, yet if you learned even a fraction of the linux system you would see so quickly what garbage Win is. It is slow, forces spyware on you, And yes you did read that right. The auto update is spyware.

Think about it, does Microsoft have any reason to improve their product? They can force you to buy whatever junk they produce. In fact, buy a new computer and chances are, unless it is a MAC, you'll be stuck with Windows.
