And I think it goes without saying that we are lifting in a controller manner, even when we go fast.
by controlled manner i mean exerting force both on the positive and negative motions of the work out. By doing that I'm doing twice the work as the one who only exerts force on the positive motion of the work out. So you're right, I do get more mass that way. By going slow I have to do reps at lower weight, and thus allowing me to do more reps as well (but not fast). I have seen guys at my gym doing that all the time, and they are ripped man.
